An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City
Hall of said City on the above date. The City Clerk reported that a Notice
of Adjournment had been posted as required by law and that an affidavit of
posting was on file.
The meeting was then called to order by Gordon T. Stephens,
Mayor, the hour being 7:00 o'clock p. m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present: Balmer, Frederick, McGill, Nagel
and Mayor Stephens;
Councilmen Absent: None.
Assistant Director of Public Works Allen reported on the
Public Works Capital Improvements which would be required in the City
over the next 10 years. After discussion, the staff was requested to place
special emphasis on completion of projects covered by the 1964 County
Storm Drain Bond Issue.
At the hour of 8:40 o'clock p. m. , the Mayor declared a 10-minute recess.
At the hour of 8 :50 o'clock p. m. , the Council reconvened, all members
being present and answering roll call.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
1. MRS. JOANNE SCHICK, 739 Virginia Street, addressed the
Council stating that she had understood that the pipe now being installed in
Virginia Street under Standard Gas Company franchise, was to have 5 inches of
exterior insulation. The City Manager was requested to address a letter
to Standard Gas Company for clarification of this matter.
NEW BUSINESS
By general consent, study sessions for the 1970 -71 Budget were
scheduled for June 1 and June 3, 1970, and public hearing on the Budget was
set for June 15, 1970.
Councilman Nagel requested that a plan for beautification of
Imperial Strip be presented to the Council at a later date.
No further business appearing to come before the Council at this
meeting, it was moved by Councilman Nagel, seconded by Councilman
Frederick the meeting adjourn, the hour of adjournment being 9:45 o'clock p. m.
Motion carried.
