1970 DEC 02 CC MINX El Segundo, California December 2, 1970 An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, was held in jointsession with the Recreation and Parks Commission in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City on the above date. The Clerk reported that a Notice of Adjournment had been posted as required by law and that affidavit of posting was on file. The meeting was then called to order by E. L. Balmer, Mayor pro tempore, the hour being 7 :00 o'clock p. m. ROLL CALL Councilmen Present: Balmer, Frederick, McGill and Nagel; Councilmen Absent: Mayor Stephens; Commissioners Present: Bue, Charland, Low and Chairman Christensen; Commissioners Absent: None. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS 1. Mr. Jack Ruis, Director of Recreation and Parks, reported on the operation of the E1 Segundo Teen Center. After discussion, motion was made by Councilman McGill, seconded by Councilman Nagel and unanimously carried that the Recreation Commission be requested to sub- mit to the Council a report with recommendations on materials, supplies and equipment needed to operate the Teen Center properly. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS MR. ROBERT CAMERON, 501 Kansas Street, addressed the Council concerning operation of the Teen Center. At this time, Commissioner Grounds entered the Council Chamber and took his seat at the Council table. 011111 The matter of establishing a Youth Advisory Committee to Recreation and Parks Commission and to the City Council was discussed. This matter was tabled until a later date. Possible development of the Edison Company right of way adjacent to Washington Street Parkette was discussed at this time. Commissioner Bue introduced a discussion on the matter of providing an area for a minibike track. No action was taken on this matter. No other business appearing to come before the Council at this time, it was moved by Councilman Nagel, seconded by Councilman Frederick that the meeting adjourn, the hour of adjournment being 8 :45 o'clock p. m.
