An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of El Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City
Hall of said City on the above date. The City Clerk reported that a Notice
of Adjournment had been posted as required by law, and that an affidavit
of posting was on file. Prior to calling the meeting to order, those
present joined in pledging allegiance to the Flag of the United States of
America.
The meeting was then called to order by Floyd Carr, Jr. , Mayor,
the hour being 4:30 o'clock p. m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present: Balmer, Frederick, Nagel, Stephens and
Mayor Carr;
Councilmen Absent: None.
The Mayor announced the Council would recess to the Mayor's office
for the purpose of interviewing an applicant for the Planning Commission.
At the hour of 5:45 o'clock p. m. , the Council reconvened, all
members being present. The Mayor announced that Mr. Phillip A. Huey,
352 Valley Street, and Mr. Charles E. Woodward, 714 Virginia Street, had
been appointed to the Planning Commission. Thereafter, it was moved by
Councilman Frederick, seconded by Councilman Stephens and unanimously
carried that the following resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the above appointments to the Planning
Commission be approved and that Mr. Philip A. Huey be appointed
to serve the unexpired term of Councilman E. L. Balmer, such
term to expire June 30, 1968 and that Mr. Charles E. Woodward
be appointed to serve the unexpired term of Mrs. Darlene
Nichelson, such term to expire June 30, 1968.
No other business to come before the Council at this session, it
was moved by Councilman Nagel, seconded by Councilman Balmer the
meeting adjourn, the hour of adjournment being 5:45 o'clock p. m. Motion
carried.
