1967 MAR 15 CC MINX 2287 El Segundo, California March 15, 1967 An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City on the above date. The City Clerk reported that a copy of Notice of Adjournment had been posted as required by law, and that affidavit of posting was on file. The meeting was then called to order by Herman L. McGill, Mayor, the hour being 12 :00 o'clock noon. ROLL CALL Councilmen Present: Carr, Frederick, Nagel and Mayor McGill; Councilmen Absent: McElhaney. Mayor McGill stated the matter to be considered at this time was the intention of removal from office of the City Manager. City Attorney Bush advised the Council of the City Code provisions in the matter. Thereafter, it was moved by Councilman Frederick, seconded by Councilman Nagel, that the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, pursuant to the provisions of the Code of the City of El Segundo, 1958, that due notice be given to the City Manager, Walter H. Harris, stating the City Council's intention to remove him from the office of City Manager of the City of El Segundo, effective thirty (30) days from this date, to wit: April 14, 1967. On roll call, said motion carried and said resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Carr, Frederick, Nagel and Mayor McGill; Noes: Councilmen None; Absent: Councilman McElhaney. Mayor McGill announced that, pursuant to Council action of January 9, 1967, Harry H. Weber, Director of Finance, would act as City Manager until that position is filled; compensation to be at the rate of $1, 500. 00 per month. At this time, the hour being 12 :15 o'clock p. m. , Mayor McGill announced that the Council would recess to his office for a personnel session. At the hour of 12 :45 o'clock p. m. the Council reconvened, the following members being present and answering roll call: Carr, Frederick, Nagel and Mayor McGill. It was moved by Councilman Frederick, seconded by Council- man Carr, that Mayor McGill and Councilman Nagel be authorized to contact a potential candidate for the position of City Manager and that the salary range be from $18, 000 to $20, 000 per year. Motion carried. Mayor McGill requested that a Special Meeting of the City Council be called for Friday, March 17, 1967, at the hour of 4 :30 o'clock p. m. for the purpose of a personnel session. No other business appearing to come before the Council at this session, it was moved by Councilman Nagel, seconded by Council- man Carr, the meeting adjourn, the hour of adjournment being 12 :50 o'clock P.m.
