A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of
the City Hall of said City on the above date. Prior to calling
the me sting to order, those present joined in pledging allegiance
to the Flag of the United States of America, following which an
invocation was given by Reverend Hammond of the Christian
Church.
The meeting was then called to order by Mayor pro tem
Kimport, the hour being 7: 00 o'clock p.m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present: Mayor pro tem Kimport and Nagel;
Councilmen Absent: Frederick, McElhaney and Mayor
McGill.
Mayor pro tem Kimport presented certificates to the
following City employees in the Water Department who had
completed a course of study in their field: Mr. Don Holquin,
Mr. Herman Morgan, Mr. Henry Schoenmeier and Mr. Herbert
Taylor. Mayor pro tem Kimport thanked these employees for
and on behalf of the City for their interest .
Mayor pro tem Kimport presented certificates of recognition
to the following call men of the Fire Department, and thanked
them on behalf of the City for their many years of service:
Mr. Alfred Campbell, 22-1/2 years of service, Mr. Clifford Smith
and Mr. R. B. Floyd, Jr., each 17 -1/2 years of service, Mr.
Wayne Cdllinss.and Mr. Cordie Hulsey, each 13-1/2 years of
service.
Mayor pro tem Kimport announced that due to lack of a
quorum there would be no Council meeting at this time, but that
all matters set for hearing before the City Council at this meeting
would be continued to July 19, 1965 , at the hour of 7 :00 o'clock
p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, including (1) reception of bids on curb and
sidewalk improvement; (2) hearing on appeal of Mr. R. Brandlin
from decision of the Planning Commission re lot split covering
Lot 7, Block 4, Tract 1685; (3) hearing on Precise Plan #3 cover-
ing 100 -unit apartment complex for Lots 4 and 5, Block 12, Tract
1685, located on West Imperial Avenue; (4) hearing on vacation of
portions of alleys on Block 24, Grand Avenue from Standard Street
to Eucalyptus Drive.
It was then moved by Mayor pro tem Kimport, seconded by
Councilman Nagel, that the- meeting be adjourned until Monday,
July 19, 1965, at 7: 00 o'clock p. m. in the Council Chambwn J'of
the City Hall of the City of E1 Segundo, California. Motion carried.
