An adjourned special meeting of the City Council of the City of
El Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall
of said City on the above date, pursuant to motion of the City Council at
its special meeting held May 29, 1961, the Deputy City Clerk stating she
had in her possession affidavit of posting of notice of said adjourned meet-
ing.
The meeting was called to order by Wilburn E. Baker, Mayor,
the hour being 10 :00 o'clock a. m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present: Frederick, Swanson, Tandy and
Mayor Baker;
Councilman Absent: Gordon.
Mayor Baker announced the adjourned regular meeting had
been called to consider the adoption of an interim zoning ordinance amend-
ing Ordinance No. 507, (The Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance) pursuant
to the provisions of the Government Code allowing adoption of such ordi-
nance, and relating to the establishment and conduct of private clubs,
fraternities, sororities and lodges, on property zoned for residential use.
Thereafter, Councilman Tandy introduced the Interim Zoning
Ordinance; it was then moved by Councilman Frederick, seconded by
Councilman Swanson, the adoption of Ordinance No. 576, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO.
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 507
3 (THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE)
OF SAID CITY AND RELATING TO THE ESTAB-
LISHMENT AND CONDUCT OF PRIVATE CLUBS,
FRATERNITIES, SORORITIES AND LODGES ON
PROPERTY ZONED FOR RESIDENTIAL USE.,
which Ordinance was read in full and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Frederick, Swanson, Tandy and
Mayor Baker;
Noes: Councilmen None;
Absent: Courn ilman Gordon.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting,
it was moved by Councilman Frederick, seconded by Councilman Tandy,
the meeting adjourn, the hour of adjournment being 10 :15 o'clock a. m.
