A special meeting of the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall of said City on the above date.
The meeting was called to--order by Wilburn E. Baker,
Mayor, the hour being 9:00 otclock a.m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present: Frederick, Swanson, Tandy and
Mayor Baker;
Councilman Absent: Gordon.
The Mayor announced the special meeting had been
called for three items of business.
1. The term of Planning Commissioner George E. Binder
having expired on February 22nd, Mayor Baker stated he would
reappoint George E. Binder to succeed himself as a member of
the Planning Commission, and requested approval of such appoint-
ment.
Moved by Councilman Frederick, seconded by Councilman
Tandy, the gollowing resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the appointment by the Mayor
of the City of E1 Segundo, of George E. Binder as
a member of the Planning Commission for a,term of
four years ending February 22, 196,5, be and the same
is hereby approved.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Frederick, Swanson, Tandy and
Mayor Baker;
Noes: Councilmen None;
Absent: Councilman Gordon.
2. In the matter of appointing a Director and Alternate
Director to the Independent Cities of Los Angeles County, of which
El Segundo is a member, Mayor Baker stated he would serve as
Director, and appointed Councilman Walter W. Swanson as Alternate
Director.
Moved by Councilman Tandy, seconded by Councilman
Frederick, the appointment of Mayor Baker as Director to the
Independent Cities of Cos Angeles County, and Councilman Walter
W. Swanson as Alternate Director, be and the same are hereby
approved.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Frederick, Swanson, Tandy and
Mayor Baker;
Noes: Councilmen None;
Absent: Councilman Gordon.
3. R. R. BAIOTTO, CITY CLERK, CITY OF GLENDORA,
transmitted a copy of its resolution urging the Board of Super-
visors of Los Angeles County to adopt a lot split ordinance.

By general consent, the matter was referred to the
Planning Commission for study and report.
No other business to come before the Council at this
meeting, it was moved by Councilman Swanson, seconded by
Councilman Frederick, the meeting adjourn, the hour of adjourn-
ment being 9:30 of clock a.m. Motion carried.
