1959 JUN 29 CC MINX 827 E1 Segundo, California .Tune 29, 1959 An adjourned - regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, was .held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City on the above date. The meeting was called to order by Kenneth R. Benfield, Mayor, the hour being 7:00 otclock P.M. ROLL CALL Councilmen Present: Baker, Frederick and Mayor Benfield; Councilmen Absent: Gordon and Meschuk. In the absence of the City Clerk, Mayor Benfield appointed Councilman Robert W. Frederick City Clerk pro tem. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS The Mayor announced that this was the time and place here- tofore fixed for the hearing on the proposed annexation of "Space Technology Territory ". The City Clerk pro tem reported that affidavits in support of the publication, mailing and posting of Resolution No. 1864, giving notice of the proposed annexation, as required by law, had been made and are on file in the office of the City Clerk. The Mayor then inquired of the City Clerk pro tem if any written communications had been filed in said matter, and was advised that none had been filed prior to the tem set for the hearing. The Mayor then asked if anyone present desired to be heard in the matter. No one responded. The hearing was thereupon declared closed. An opportunity having been given to all persons desiring to be heard, Councilman Baker introduced Ordinance No. 544, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO.. CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF THE SAID CITY OF EL SEGUNDO OF CERTAIN UNIN- HABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS ttSPACE TECHNOLOGY TERRITORY".. IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE "ANNEXATION OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY ACT OF 1939"•2 which was read. No further business appearing to come before the Council at this meeting, it was moved by Councilman Frederick, seconded by Councilman Baker, the meeting adjourn. Carried.
