CONSENT TO SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AND WAIVER OF NOTICE.
We, the undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council
of the City of El Segundo, California, do hereby consent and agree that
a special meeting of said Council shall be held in the Council Chamber
in the City Hall of said City, beginning at the hour of 11 :00 otclock
A. M. on Monday, the 15th day of September, 1952, for the purposes of:
(A) Selecting and appointing a Mayor pro tem to serve
as Mayor of the City of E1 Segundo in the absence of Mayor
William R. Selby and until the further order of the City
Council of the City of El Segundo; and
(B) For the further purpose of considering and acting
upon any and all questions or matters which in the opinion of
the City Council may be connected with, related to, or concerns
the action or course to be taken or followed by the City of El
Segundo and by any officer or department thereof in the matter
of the current strike at the E1 Segundo Plant of the Douglas
Aircraft Company, Inc.
We hereby waive any further, other, or additional notice of the
time and place or purposes of said meeting and consent that same be held
at the time and place above stated.
Dated this 15th day of September, 1952, and filed in the office of
the City Clerk prior to the time set for said meeting.

California, was called.to order at 11 :00 o'clock A. M. on the above date
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by the DelSuty City
Clerk, the Mayor being absent, pursuant to the foregoing cons nt to
special meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segund.o, California,
and waiver of ribtice.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present: Baker Gordon and Peterson;
Councilmen Abseht: Swanson and Mayor Selby.
Moved by Councilm.1 Gordon, seconded by Councilman Baker, that
Councilman Peterson be apointed Mayor pro tem of the City of E1 Segundo,
to act in such capacity during the absence of Mayor Selby, and until the
further order of this Couri�il. Carried. i
Councilman Peterson thereupon assumed the duties of Mayor.
The Mayor announced that as set forth in the foregoing consent to
special meeting and waiver of notice, the purpose of this meeting was to
appoint a Mayor pro tem to fill such office during the absence of Mayor
Selby, and for the further purpose of considering and acting upon any and
all questions or matters which in tie opinion of the City Council may be
connected with, related to, or concerns the action or course to be taken
or followed by the City of El Segundo and by any officer or department
thereof in the matter of the current.A rike at the El Segundo Plant of
the Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman\Baker, seconded by Councilman
Gordon, that T. B. DeBerry, Chief of Police of the City of E1 Segundo, be
and he is hereby empowered to act, and authorized to use his discretion,
with respect to any matters over which he has jurisdiction, in connection
with the current strike at the El Segundo Plarlt of the Douglas Aircraft
Company, Inc. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Baker, Gordon and Mayor,pro tem Peterson;
Noes: Councilmen None;
Absent: Councilman Swanson and Mayor Selby.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it
was moved by Councilman Baker, seconded by Councilman Gordon, the meeting
adjourn. Carried.

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 11:00 otclock A. M. on the above
date in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by the Deputy
City Clerk, the Mayor being absent, pursuant to the foregoing consent to
special meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California,
and waiver of notice.
The Deputy City Clerk announced that the first order of business
under the foregoing consent to special meeting and waiver of notice thereof
is the appointment of a Mayor pro tem to serve as Mayor of the City of E1
Segundo in the absence of Mayor William R. Selby aid until the further order
of the City Council of the City of El Segundo.
Moved by Councilman Gordon, seconded by Councilman Baker, that Council-
man Peterson be appointed Mayor pro ter. of the City of E1 Segundo, to act in
such capacity during the absence of Mayor Selby, and until the further order
of this Council. Carried.
Councilman Peterson thereupon assumed the duties of Mayor.
