A special meeting of the City Council of the City of El
Segundo, California, was called to order at 12 :00 o'clock noon
on the above date in the Council Chamber of the City.Hall of
said City by William R. Selby, Mayor, pursuant to the foregoing.
consent to special meeting of the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, and waiver of notice.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present: Gordnn, Peterson, Swanson, Thompson
and Mayor Selby.
Councilmen Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Gordon,
that the regular order of business be suspended. Carried.
The Mayor announced that as set forth in the foregoing
consent to special meeting and waiver of notice, the purpose of
this meeting was to appoint a City Clerk to fill the unexpired
term of Victor D. McCarthy, whose death occurred on April 7, 1951.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Gordon, seconded by
Councilman Thompson, that Neva M. Elsey be and she is hereby
appointed City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, to
fill such position until the date of the holding of the next
regular municipal election, to wit, April, 1952. Carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gordon, Peterson, Swanson, Thompson and
Mayor Selby.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
The Mayor then imposed upon and the City Clerk took and sub-
scribed to the constitutional oath of office.
The City Clerk at this time announced that the official bond
of the City Clerk had been duly furnished and filed as provided
by law.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this
meeting, it was moved by Councilman Thompson, seconded by.Council-
man Peterson, the meeting adjourn. Carried.
