March 19, 1948.
An'adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El
Segundo. California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall
of said Clty, on the above date, having been called to order at 4 :1;
o'clock P. M. by William R. Selby, Mayor. '
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Skelley, Thompson and Mayor Selby.
Councilmen Absent: Baker and Peterson.
Moved by Councilman Thompson. seconded by Councilman Skelley, the regular
order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
City Engineer Hutchins reported that he had conferred with the Engineering
Department of County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County respecting
the Mans for the installation of trunk line sewers in the Northwest quarter
or Section 7 within the City of E1 Segundo, intended to furnish sewerage
service to Nash- Kelvinator Company and North American Aviation, Inc., as a
result of which it was agreed that the proposed trunk line should be extended
anproxima.tely 1300 feet westerly from its original point of beginning, so
that when corm leted. it would serge all of the said Northwest quarter of
S,.,,.- Section ? instead of a. part thereof only.
The Council informally approved the recommendations of the City Engineer
and the change in the plans for said sewers as suggested by him.
The City Clerk then read to the Council a communication from A. M. Rewn,
Chie_`' Engineer and.General Manager'of County Sanitation Districts of Los
Angeles County, dated March 19, 1948, which had reference to a letter from
Mr: Ra-,711, dated March 12, 1948, and presented the Council March 17, 1948,
with reference to the construction of said trunk'line sewer and which
explained that by reason of the proposed changes -in plans, the cost will
be increased from $29,000.00 to approximately `36,000.00, which latter
amount it was re^uested be advanced to County Sanitation District No. 2
0- Angeles County, as the agency which will construct said sewer.
Following discussion, it was moved by Councilman Skelley, seconded by
Ce rcilmar Thompson, that Resolution No. 929, entitled:
