JOSEPH FRANCIS BE<RRA, dated October 6, 1947, being an application for Automobile for Hire Driver's Permit. The application having been completed in appropriate form and the Chief of Police having recommended the permit applied for be granted, it was moved by Councilman Baker, seconded by Councilman- TEteramm, the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, that zubject to the provisions of Ordinance Ivo. 233 of the City of E1 Segundo, California, and pursuant to application for Automobile for Hire Driver's Permit, presented this Council this date, and herebysdered fileai- in the office of the City Clerk for the pure oe of cation and reference and open to public inspection, and which application by this reference is incorporated herein and made a part hereof, Joseph Francis Berra be and he is hereby granted a permit to drive, operate or be in charge of any passenger carrying or motor propelled vehicle defined in said ordinance; provided, however, that the permit hereby granted by this Council may be suspended by the Chief of revoked by this Council at any time at his discretion or may at any time in its discretion, and that such suspension or revocation may be so ordered and made at any , cause, without notice and without liability on the part of the City of El Segundo or any of its officers, employees, agents or representatives. VANDEBERGH, dated October 11, 1947, requesting permission to remove certain trees from the parkway on the West side of Loma Vista Street, between Walnut and Acacia Avenues, to permit of the installation of side - walks ana curbs at said location, where the applicant is now building six rouses. In corncction therewith, the City Clerk reported that Parks Department Foreman George Schoening had investigated and discovered that the trees are old acacia trees, of little value, and similar to many which have been removed parkways ;ways throughout the City in recent months and he recommended that ., :,ernis`.° n. be gfa_nted'ror removal of the trees in question. Councilman Skelley supplemented this report by stating that he concurred in the recommendation for removal and that Mr. Schoening will contact the ;,,ca t in on endeavor to cau °e the said applicant to remove the said trees at rl' ^ant' s own cost and expense. Thereafter, it was moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Baker, and irnantmously carried, that permission be granted to reprove the acacia trees from the parkway on the west side of Loma. City Engineer Hutchins reported that E1 Segundo Oil Company and T & F Oil Company have caused the public street and the property adjoining oil we11s known as E1 Segundo No. 1 and E1 -Segundo No. 2 to be cleaned up, to his satisfaction. Thereafter the matter of the assignment of the permits for said wells to T & F Oil Company, a copartnership, which matter heretofore was discussed before this Council, was taken up, following which it was moved by Councilman Baker. seconded by Councilman Skelley, the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, that the following instruments, to -wit: As to E1 Segundo Well No. 1- 1. Councilman Skelley recommended the City accept two parcels of real property to be tendered the City of El Segundo for public street purposes by the owners thereof, and after discussion, it was moved by Councilman Baker, seconded by Councilman Peterson, that the City Engineer prepare correct legal descriptions of the Westerly 2; feet of Lot 57, Block 123, K aegunlo, and the Ea -terly 25 feet of Lot 112, Block 123, E1 Segundo, ?nd deliver the same to the City Attorney for the preparation by the 1e.tter officer of the documents necessary to accomplish the dedication of said parcels of real property for public street purposeE °nd that before action respecting said matter is taken by this Council, the said matter ::e referred to the Pl .ding Commission of the City of El Segundo XI its review and an indication of its pleasure in.the premises.
