EL SECUNDO.OIL COMPANY,-dated February 12, 1947, requesting the Council's approval and consent.to-the transfer of the interests of said Company in certain oil wells within the City of E1 Segundo to C. E. Beatty. The documents submitted with said communication having been referred to the Ci,;ty Attorney and.having received his approval as to form, it was moved by Councilman Thompson, seconded by Councilman Peterson, the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, that the communication from El,Begundo- Oil Company., dated February 12, 1947,•requesting this., Council's: approval. and .consent to the transfer of the interests of E1 Segundo Oil Company in and to its oil wells named and known as El Segundo. Randolph Rak, 801 Center Street, El Segundo, addressed the Council, requesting deviation from the tree planting plan hereto ;ore approved by the Parks Department and the City Council of the City of El Segundo, as the same effects the parking in front of his property hereinbefore described. Following discussion.the_ matter,. by, general consent, was taken .under advise- ment. Mr. Don Leahy addressed the Council respecting the City's acceptance of parcels of land for the purpose of.extending- Maryland and Bungalow Streets in a northerly direction, the paving of the same, as well as the installation of sidewalks and curbs and sewage disposal lines. After discussion it was recommended that Mr. Leahy cause a survey of his property to be made and to file , maps -thereof with this Council for its consideration after the surveys have been completed. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES. None. REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COMMITTEES.. The City Clerk reported to the Council that one of the persons to whom a For-Hire Vehicle driver's :badge has heretofore been issued -had returned said -badge and requested that the fee of $1.50 deposited with the City for such badge be refunded to him, inasmuch as he,has terminated his employment as a Vehicle for Hire driver. The provisions:of Ordinance No. 283 of the City of E1 Segundo; which govern the issuance of -such badges,-'were examined and--it appearing that the refund of the deposit for badges made.by driver permittees is not prohibited, it was moved,by Councilman;Skelley, seconded.by Councilman Baker, that the(zm1zx&xmf deposits made with the City Clerk for Vehicle for Hire drivers' badges.,,issued by the-City-Clerk's-office., be.<refunded to the persons making such deposits, after such badges have been returned,to the City Clerk in.satisfaotory.condition and suitable for further use and after such - persons have filed a demand in- customary; -and approved form, requesting the return of such deposits, the amount to.,be - refunded in each instance not to .exceed• the - amount._deposited for such ,badge; tQ -wit: 41-. �O. Moved by Councilman Peterson,;.seconded by Councilman Bak_er,.that that certain agreement between Standard Oil Company of California, a Corporation, and the City of E1 Se8undo.,,a Municipel Corporation, dated the 4th day of February, 1947, respecting an easement for water and sewage lines in, under, along and across a certain portion of, ,Block 12,-within the City, :of E1 Segundo, as more particularly described in said-Agreement, be and-the-same -same is hereby accepted by and on behalf of the City of--K. Segundo and.is hereby ordered filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.and after such recordation, fi-led.in the office of the City Clerk. In the matter of the Surety Bonds of United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, in-amount of $1000.00 each, covering Dorothy Wallace,' Peggy Sullivan and Evelyn Nelk, presented this Council at its last regular meeting and at said time.referred to' -the City Attorney for approval, the City Attorney reported that he does not approve the particular forms submitted; that he discussed the matter with Miss A. L. In the matter of the creation of new fire'tonera within the City of E1 Segundo, which has been under consideration by this Council and discussed at several previous meetings ,`the City Clerk reported that -the City Attorney had prepared and delivered to him for- presentation to this- Council this date an Ordinance respecting the establishment' of fire zones Mos. -1, 20 3 and 4 in and for said City, which he read to the Council. Chief of Police Hutchins informed the - Council that the Belyea Trucking Company will, from time to time,.during the construction of Hyperion Outfall Sewage Treatment Plant, have. occasion. to, tianaport' over certain of the public streets of the City of E'1 Segundo, truck load's of material which will be-overweight and oversize and-that-said Company. had requested it.be; given a blanket permit to do this work to avoid the necessity for obtaining permits in ind1vidual cases and stated it will post a $5000.00 bond to guarantee the "repair or replacement of any public property damaged as a result of its operations. By general consent the Chief of Police was requested to obtain copies of the forms of permits used by other jurisdictions in such cases and present the same to this Council .for- ..its,consideration.. .
