California Public Utilities Commission, its amended Application No: 282,11,
respecting an increase in rates and charges proposed to be made by said
Company, so as to provide additional revenues. Attached to said communication
Is a copy of said application,- together with statement showing present and
proposed rates for the principal classes of service as they may effect the
users of such service in the El Segundo exchange. By general consent the
communication was ordered received and filed in the office of the City Clerk.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS.
Mr. Arthur Viren addressed the Council concerning his desire and -that of
other property owners to convey certain real-property in a portion -of Lot 2,
J. H. Fisher Subdivision, within the City of E1 Segundo, to said City for public
street purposes,.as extensions to certain existing public streets of the City
of El Segundo.
Following discussion, it was moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by
Councilman Skelley and unanimously carried, that the matter be referred to City
Engineer Hutchins for investigation and report to this Council.
REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COM4ITTEES.
The City Clerk reported receipt-of Report.No. 12 of the Department of Public
Works of the City of Los Angeles respecting that City's expenditures out of
City of E1 Segundo funds.allocated for the purposes in connection with the
construction of the Los Angeles sewage treatment plant at-Hyperion. -..The
statement shows the monies eipended'to date and the available.balances'remaining
in each of the funds. Copies of said statements were delivered to,the City
Engineer and the'City Attorney for their information and files.

Moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Skelley, that Ordinance
No. 316, entitled:

City Engineer Hutchins reported completion of certain specifications

furnishing the City of E1 Segundo two centrifugal sewage pumps needed by the
City of El Segundo in conn9ction.with its proposed reconstruction of Sewage
Pumping Station No. 2.
Thereafter, it was moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by-Councilmen
Skelley, that Resolution No. -894, entitled:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEL
CITY OF EL SEMINDO, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING
SPECIFICATIONS NO. SW- 470815 FOR FURNISHING
TWO CENTRIFUGAL SEWAGE PUNS TO SAID CITY,
which was read, be adopted. Said motion carried and said Resolution was
adopted by the following vote:

City Attorney of the City of E1 Segundo be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to- prepare and .present to this Council for its approval, form of
Notice to Bidders calling for bids for furnishing the City of E1 Segundo
two centrifugal sewage pumps in accordance with Specifications No. SW- 470815
heretofore adopted.by this Council. Carried by the.following vote:

Councilman Peterson informed the Council that it is his desire to take
his annual vacation beginning August 23rd, 19.47: and running through September
8th, 1947, during which time he anticipates leaving the State of California.
Moved.by Councilman Skelley, seconded by-Councilman Thompson, `that.
Councilman Dave.W._Peterson be.and he is hereby...granted permission to
absent himself.from meetings of the City Council which maybe held_,between
the dates August 2�rd.and September -8th., 1947, and that.during. such time
he is also wanted permission to leave the State of California. Carried
