-was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City upon the above
date, having been called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. by William R. Selby,
Mayor.

The minutr of the regular meeting held July 30, 1947, having been read,
without error,pnission having been noted, it was moved by Councilman Baker,
seconded by Councilman Thompson, the minutes of said meeting be approved as
recorded. Carried.
WRITTEN COrINNNICATIONS.
JOHN J. CAIN, dated August 5, 1947, being an application for Taxicab Permit,
submitted on regular form therefor prepared and furnished by the City of El Segundo.
Said application describes therein one of the vehicles to be used in the con-
duct of said business, and there was attached thereto supplements describing two
additional cabs, also to be used in the proposed taxicab service, named and known
as the Diamond Cab Company.
Accompanying said application was an explanatory letter from Mr. Cain,
dated August 5, 1947.
Following the reading of said application and attached supplements and
said letter, it was moved by Councilman Baker, seconded by Councilman Thompson
that Resolution No. 89S. entitled:

The structure having been inspected -by Building Inspector. Snotony, who
found that the building proposed to be moved does -not conforn to building
ordinances of the City of EL Segundo, and that official having.recommended that
the permit applied for be not granted, it was moved by douncilman Thompson,
seconded by Councilman Baker that the application for a house moving. permit
of Grace Baptist Church, filed with this Council this date, be denied. Motion
carried unanimously. ;
ANNA C. WOOD, dated August 4, 1947, being an application.,for , reneWal.of . a
permit to occupy, use and maintain a house trailer at 438 Maryland Street, within
the.City of El Segundo.

granted, subject to a limitation of thirty -days from the expiration date of
