1946 MAY 16 CC MIN - 19E1 Segundo, California. May 16,- 1946 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 6:15 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in-the Council Chamber of the City Hall of'said City, by William R. Selby., Mayor, pursuant to the foregoing Consent to Special Meeting and Waiver of Notice. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Baker, Peterson and Mayor Selby. Councilmen Absent: Skelley and Thompson. Moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Baker, the regular order of business be suspended. Carried. The City Clerk read to the Council the a-"plication of.Standard Oil Company of California, dated May 6, 1946, for a permit to drill an oil and/or gas well within the City of E1- Segundo. Requisite license fee having been paid;trider amending oil well drilling bond of said Company covering its other wells within.the City of E1 Segundo having been furnished; a letter from Pacific Indemnity Company authorizing the attachment of said rider to Pacific Indemnity Company Bond No. 92587 having accompanied said rider and all other papers filed with said application appearing to be in good 'order, it was moved*by Councilman Baker, seconded by Councilman Peterson, that Resolution No. 829, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF .,EL- SEGUNDO;- CALIFORNIA,- GRANTING TO STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA A PERMIT FOR THAT CERTAIN OIL WELL IN SAID CITY DESIGNATED AND KNOWN AS "STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA_ Q.OIICg18s which was read, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Baker, Peterson and Mayor Selby. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: 6ouncilmen Skelley and Thompson. The City Clerk then read to the Council a letter from James E. Hunt, dated May 16, 1946, requesting a permit to place and occupy a house trailer on his property described as 1220 East E1 Segundo Boulevard, in the City of E1 Segundo, for the purpose of housing a watchman during such time as the erection of a building, which applicant proposes to construct at said location, is under way. Following discussion, it was moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Baker, the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, that the application of James E. Hunt, dated May 16, 1946, for a permit to maintain a house trailer on his premises at 1220 East E1 Segundo Boulevard, El Segundo, be placed on file in the office of the City Clerk for the purposes of identification and reference; AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said James E. - + Hunt be-and he is hereby granted a temporary revocable permit to maintain and use said house trailer on said premises, provided said permittee shall make such alterations or renovations as may be suggested by and to the satisfaction of the Building Inspector of the City of E1 Segundo; and, provided - further, that sanitary facilities for use in connection with said trailer shall be provided satisfactory to said Building Inspector; ,AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the.attention of the permittee is particularly called to the provisions of Ordinance No# 223 of the City of 21_ Segando, which makes the granting of trailer permits discretionary with the City Council during the period of the war emergency and the permittee herein named is advised that when, in the discretion of the Council, the present housing emergency is ended, this Counoil may revoke this and any other trailer permits heretofore granted. The foregoing - resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Baker, Peterson and Mayor Selby. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: -= Councilmen Skelley and Thompson. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was'-moved by- Councilman Baker, seconded.by Councilman Peterson, the meeting adjourn. Carried.
