An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City ball of seii City* on
the move date, having been called to order at 4:15 e' clock P. L. by "7illia!:L
R. Selby, Yayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Hesser, Peterson; Skelley, Thompson and Vayor Selby.
Councilmen Absent: None.
bioved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Skelley, that the
regular order of business be suspended. Carried.
The Council again viewed that certain matt of proposed shoreline development
as. nrepared and submitted by the Regional Planning Commission, Los Angeles
County, California, entitled: "Tentative Revised ..aster Plan of Shoreline
Develon ent E1 Segundo - Yanhattan Beach ", dated' Tul'y, 1945, and considered its
approval as had been requested by Supervisor Darby when he discussed the matter
with the City Council July 18, 1945, after Which it was moved by Councilman
Skelle -y, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that the following resolution be adopted:
'',hEFTAS, since the adoption of the blaster Plan of Shoreline
Development by the County of Los Angeles in 1940, various changes
have occurred effecting property covered by saint Master Plan,
particularly (1) acquisitions by the public of certain parcels
of beach property, (2) the aggravation of beach erosion in certain
localities, (3) the development of design plans for the physical
improvement of various sectors of the beach - and (4) certain state
legislation reouiring amendment'of the priority classification of
beach properties; and
the Regional 'Pldnning Commission of the County of
Los Angeles has submitted to the City Council of E1 Seguftdo a cony
of a proposed "Te t t }}•vP., Revised Faster Plan of Shoreline Develop -
ment, El Segundo "tilling for certain acquisition of land needed
for recreational beach development, as well as a source of sand
for eventual beach building, said land to be acquired being desig-
nated as Parcels 30 and 30A;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of El Segundo hereby approves std' "Tentative Revised blaster

Commission of the County of Los Angeles, in so far as it applies
to the City of E1 Segundo, except that it withholds approval of
the acquisition in its entirety of that parcel of land described
in said Master Plan as Parcel 30A and approves only of that portion
of said Parcel 30A lying westerly of the westerly line of proposed
Shoreline Parkway' as shown upon said map or plan; and said Council
also withholds at this time its approval of the location of said
proposed Shoreline Parkway as the same is shown in said Parcel 30A
upon said map or plan, as said Council wishes to study further the
matter of the location of said Shorelinb Parkway; and
. ' BE IT FURTTER RESOLVED, that with the exceptions hereinabove
noted said Council, approves the inclusion of Parcl 30 ant] that
portion of Parcel 30A as delineated. upon said map, lyi.ng westerly
of the westerly line of said proposed Shoreline Parkway, in SECOND
priority for acquisition and construction; and
BE IT n'R=R RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of
E1 Segundo be and he is hereby authorized to furnish such copies
of this resolution to the Regional Planning Commission of Los
Angeles County as that Body may require.

covering the same. Carried by toe following vote:

In the matter of the application of Kenneth C. Freeland for a permit to
keep three horses at 625 +9est Pine Avenue, E1 Segundo, presented this Council
August 1, 1945 and taken under consideration until this session of said meeting,
various members of the Council reported having personally viewed the premises
referred to and its surroundings.
.The Council discussed further the problems which may arise as a result
of the permitting of keeping of animals within the densely populated areas
of the City and following such discussion it was moved by Councilman Peterson,
seconded by Councilman Skelley, that the application of Kenneth C. Freeland,
dated July 30, 1945, filed with this Council August 1, 1945, requesting
permission to erect a bern and corral and to maintain not to exceed three
:gorses at 625 +'Jest Pine Avenue, El Segundo, be denied. Carried.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was
moved by Councilman Skelley, seconded by Councilman Hesser, the meeting adjourn.
Carried.
