November 17, 1944.
An adjourned regular meeting of the -City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was held in the Council Chamber of-the City Hall of said City on the
stove date, .having been called to order at 4:30 o'clock P. M. by the City Clerk,
the Mayor being absent.
Moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Selby, that Councilman
Hesser be appointed Mayor pro tem. Carried.
Councilman Hesser thereupon assumed the duties of the Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Peterson, Selby and Mayor pro tem Hesser.
Councilmen Absent: Love and Skelley.
Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Peterson, the - regular
order of business be dispensed with. Carried.

Moved by Councilman Selby,,seconded by Councilman Peterson, the demands
be allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the respective funds covering
the same. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Peterson, Selby and Mayor Pro Tem Hesser.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen Love and Skelley.
Mayor Love appeared at the meeting at this time, the hour being 4:35
o'clock P. M. and he 4mmmediately assumed the duties of the Mayor.
NEW BUSINESS.
City Engineer Hutchins explained the desirability of making certain
engine changes in motor vehicle equipment of the City of E1 Segundo and the
necessity for purchasing a new engine, whereupon it was moved by Councilman
Hesser, seconded by Councilman Peterson, that the purchase of a new engine for
one of the motor vehicles of the City of E1 Segundo and the installation of
same be and the same is hereby authorized at a cost of not to exceed $215.00.
Carried by-the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby and Mayor Love.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilman Skelley.
A letter addressed to Mayor Love under date of November 14, 19440 by
0. H. Gierlich, Chairman, West Basin Survey Ways and Means Committee, with
reference to a meeting to be held in Hawthorne, California, this date, at
8:00 P. M. was read to the Council and by general consent the Superintendent
of the Water Department was authorized tQ attend said meeting.
No further business appearing to,be transacted at this meeting, it was
moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Hesser, the meeting adjourn.
