An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E'1 Se eundo,
Californic was held in the Council Chamber of-the City Hall of said City on
the a!-ove date, having been called to order at 4 :15 P. Y. by George Love, Mayor.
• ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Selby, Skelley'and Idayor Love.
Councilmen absent: resser and Peterson.
1,1oved by Councilman Selby,' seconded by Councilman Skelley, the regular
order of business be dispensed rith. Carried.
Loved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Skelley, the following
resolution be adopted:
7-?--AS, the Government- of the- United States has made
available to municipalities, overr%nental agencies and
essential in?ustries, certain motor eauipment, ,1jhich, for
some time, has been 'subject to Federal priority and of which
cities an8 other agencies have great need;

releas °d, certain pick -up trucks art included;
the Tederal Government has established
brices on such pick -up trucks as hereinafter set forth;
the City of --1 Segundo is in great
need of the equipment hereinabove ens! hereinafter referred
to and no necessary or proper aurpo'se could be served by
advertisin- for bids, as same are to be purchased directly
from the Federal Government;

First: That an emervercy affecting= the public 'peace,
safety , health, comfort, 'convenience and general welfare
Of said City exists, which makes it necessary and essential
that the City of ?1 Segundo acquird immediately the -two
items of motor equipment hereinafter referred to.
Second: That the City of El Segundo purchase im-
mediately from the Government of the United States of America
at the price hereinafter •set forth; the following items of
motor equipment, to -wit:
1 - 1942 Dodge Pick -up Truck, as offered_ by
the Federal Government, for the sum of X605.74
1 - 1942 Ford Pick -up Truck, as offered by
the Federal Government, for the sum of '612.49
AND, BE IT v.URTHEIR 8 ":SOLIFED; that the City Clerk be and
he is hereby authorized and instructed to attend to all
details connected with the purchase of said items by said City
and to prepare and present to this'Council the necessary
xarrant or ;•jarrants for approval and allowance in the premises.
Tree foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Selby, Skelley'and mayor Love.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen Hesser and Peterson.'
