1944 FEB 23 CC MIN4n: El Segundo, California. February 23, 1944. An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City on the above date, having been called to order at 4:30 P. M. by George Love, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present.: Hesser, Peterson, Selby and Mayor Love. Councilmen Absent: Skelley. Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Peterson and unanimously carried, the regular order of business be dispensed with. P,Ioved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that Ordinance No. 276, entitled: AN CRDIPAD ?CE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, GIFTING AND GRAPdTING T171 CONSENT OF SAID CITY TO THE INST_=.LLATION AND Y-4INTENANCE OF CERTAIN WATER SERVICE COIv'NECTIONS WITHIN SAID CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PATER AND POWER OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES, IN AND ACROSS CERTAIN OF THE PUBLIC STREETS ":IT'r!IN SAID CITY OF EL SEGUNDO , . which was introduced and read at a regular meeting of this Council held on the 16th day of February, 1944, and reread at this meeting, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby and Mayor Love. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Skelley. Moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that Resolution No. 704, entitled: A RESOLUTION O. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIE HOLDING OF A GENERAL rUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, 1944, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN MUNICIPAL OFFICERS OF SAID CITY, which was read, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby and Mayor Love. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Skelley. PAYING BILLS. The following demands, having had. the approval of the Committee on Finance and Records, were read: General F7 Planning Congress of Los Angeles County $10.00 Southwestern Section I. A. E. I. 3.00 H. Moved' by Councilman Selby, s Bonded by Councilman Hesser, the demands be allowed and warrants therefor / rawn on and paid out of the General Fund covering the 'same. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby and Mayor Love. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Skelley. Building Inspector Tohn Catalano, reporting with reference to the bus turning area in a certain portion of Douglas Avenue within the City of E1 Segundo, which matter was brought to the attention of this Council at its regular meeting held February 16th, 1944, and at said time referred to the Building Inspector for investigation and,report, stated that he had conferred with officials of North American Aviation, Inc. respecting said matter and has learned that the maximum number of busses operating in the area at any one time will be twelve; also that he had conferred with officials of other companies operating in the vicinity and which might be effected by this bus turning area and that these have no objection thereto. At the conclusion of his report, it was suggested by Councilman Peterson that North American Aviation, Inc. be requested to make formal application for the hermit it seeks and when the same is received by the Council, it will take further action respecting the matter. By general consent the matter was thus concluded. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by Councilman Hesser, seconded by Councilman Selby, the meeting adjourn.
