be allowed and warrants ordered drawn on and paid out of the respective funds
covering the same. Carried by the following vote:

NEW BUSINESS.
Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Peterson, that the
sum of $2500.00 be transferred from the General Fund of the City of E1 Segundo
to the Library Fund of said City and that the City Clerk and the City Treasurer
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to cause such transfer to be
made and appropriate record thereof entered in their respective books of account.
Carried by.the following vote: .
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby, Skelley and Mayor Love,
Noes: Councilmen None.

The Chief of Police reported that on September 13th, 1943, he had
appointed Mack C. Luster a crossing guard at the rate of compensation provided
for crossing guards by Resolution No. 678 of the City Council and he requested
that his action be approved.
Moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that
the action of the Chief of Police in appointing Mack C. Luster a crossing guard,
effective September 13th, 1943, be-and the same is hereby ratified, approved
and confirmed. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby, Skelley and Mayor Love,
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
Special City Attorney John F. Bender presented the City Council a
Quitclaim Deed, in duplicate, executed by Clara Fischer Rising, dated September
10th, 1943, effecting Lot 7, in Block 10, Tract 1685, in the City of E1 Segundo.
Moved by Councilman-Hesser, seconded by Councilman Selby, the following
resolution be adopted:
RESQLVED, that that. certain Quitclaim:_.Deed, dated
September 10th, 1943, executed.by Clara Fischer-Rising,
presented'to this Council for its consideration, and '
conveying to the City of E1 Segundo, a Yuni.cipal Corpora-
tion, that certain parcel of real property situated in
the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, registered in the Office of the Land. Registrar,
County of Los Angeles, and described as follows: ,
