LOS ANGELES COUNTY DIVISION, LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES, dated
September 16th, 1943, requesting attendance at its 142nd regular monthly
meeting at Los Angeles, Thursday, September 16th, 1943, at 6:45 P. M.
Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that any
member of the City Council desiring so to do, the City Engineer and the
City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to attend the meeting of the
Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities, to be held
in Los Angeles, September 16th, 1943, and to file their demands for their
actual and necessary expenses in connection therewith. Carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby, Skelley and Mayor Love.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
t PACIFIC COAST BUILDING OFFICIALS CONFERENCE, dated September.7th, 1943,
advising of its 21st annual convention to be held in San Francisco, October
5th and 6th, 1943, and recommending that the Building Inspector of the City
of E1 Segundo be authorized to attend said Conference, which will discuss
important matters concerning the administrative requirements of the Uniform
Building Code, as well as suggested requirements for controlling new methods
of construction developed by reason of the demands for war housing and to
prepare for the demands which will be placed upon Building Departments owing
to post -war building conditions.
After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by
Councilman Hesser, that John Catalano, Building Inspector of the City of El
Segundo be and he is hereby authorized to attend the convention of the
Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, to be held.in San Francisco,
October 5th and 6th,.1943, and to file his demand against the City for his
actual and necessary expenses in connection with his attendance thereat.
Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby, Skelley and Mayor Love.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
0. L. WILLETT, President, South Bay Beach and Highway Association, dated
September 7th, 1943, requesting the City of El Segundo to subscribe $25.00
toward the support of said organization.
Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Skelley, the following
resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the communication from 0. L. Willett,
President, South Bay Beach and Highway Association, dated
September 7th, 1943, be received and placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk for the purposes of identification
and reference;
AND, BE IT -FURTHER RESOLVED, that in view of the
benefits to be received by the City o4 El Segundo and the
public thereof from the functions, activities and objectives
of the said South Bay Beach and Highway Association, that
the City of El Segundo take membership in.said Association
for the current membership year, on the .basis of $25.00 dues
for such membership for said current membership year;
AND,-BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, tYiat the City Clerk be
and he is hereby authorized and instructed to attend to any
details necessary in procuring such membership and to prepare
and present to this Council the necessary demand and warrant
for said current membership year's dues.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:
