TREASURY DEPARTMENT.. PROCUREMENT DIVISION, dated August 12th, 1943s
advising that said Division has certain property for sale and suggesting
that officials or organizations interested in purchasing any of the same
communicate with said Division. By general consent the communication
was ordered received and filed in the office of the City Clerk and the
subject matter thereof referred to the City Engineer for investigation
and recommendation, if any.
WALTER C. PETERSON., City Clerk, City of Los Angeles, dated September
3rd, 1943, advising of the action taken by the Finance 'Committee of the
City Council of the City of Los Angeles in connection with a certain communi-
cation transmitted said Body by the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo
with reference to the proposal to drill for oil on property adjacent to the
City of El Segundo. Ordered filed.
J. N. MARTIN, dated September 9th, 1943, an application for a permit to main-
tain hogs at 421 Indiana Street within the City of E1 Segundo. By general con-
sent the matter was taken under advisement until the next meeting of the
Council.
INTERSTATE AIRCRAFT AND ENGINEERING CORPORATION, dated September 9th,
1943, requesting it be granted permission to install certain water lines
across Imperial Highway so as to connect its plant with the water distribution
system of the City of Los Angeles in order to afford fire protection service,
such installation having been directed by the army.
Moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that the
communication of Interstate Aircraft and Engineering Corporation, dated
September 9th, 1943, presented this Council this date,,having reference to
the installation of water mains across Imperial Highway -in order to afford
fire protection to the plant of said Corporation on the South side of
Imperial Highway westerly of Inglewood - Redondo Road, be received and filed
in the office of the City Clerk for the purposes of identification and reference,
and that Resolution No. 681, entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY.OF,
EL SEGUND02 CALIFORNIA, GIVING AND GRANTING THE
CONSENT OF SAID CITY TO THE INSTALLATION -OF
CERTAIN WATER SERVICE CONNECTIONS .WITHIR SAID
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO BY THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER
AND POWER OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES IN AND
ACROSS CERTAIN OF THE PUBLIC STREETS WITHIN SAID
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO TO PROVIDE WATER FOR FIRE
PROTECTION PURPOSES TO INTERESTATE AIRCRAFT AND
ENGINEERING CORPORATION,
which was read, be adopted. Said motion carried and said resolution was
adopted by the following vote, to -wit:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Peterson, Selby, Skelley and Mayor Love.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
J. W. ROBINSON, M. D., District Health Officer of the Health Department
of the County, of.Los Angeles, dated September 10th, 1943, advising that the
need for the quarantine of dogs has passed and that therefore the quarantine
is repealed effective.September 14th, 1943.
The communication was ordered received and filed in the office of the
City Clerk and that officer was requested to ask El Segundo Herald to give
publicity to the lifting of the quarantine.
