May 4th, 1943.
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of* the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City on the
above date, having been called to order at 4:30 o'clock P. M. by George Love,

ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Peterson, Selby and Mayor Love.

Moved by Councilman Peterson, seconded by Councilman Selby, the regular
order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
The City Clerk read to the Council a communication he had received from
State Employees' Retirement System under date of April 30th, 1943, advising that
in view of the lapse of time since the City of El Segundo was furnished the
original calculations showing the amount of contributions to be made by the
City of El Segundo and by its employees to effectuate participation in the State
Employees' Retirement System, the estimates given would no longer apply and that
an entirely new valuation will be necessary before E1 Segundo can participate
in said Retirement System.
The communication recited further that a new contract would have to be
entered into with a consulting actuary and current data furnished such actuary
and that upon receipt of advices that the City is desirous of having such re-
valuation made, necessary documents will be forwarded the City for execution
by its proper officers.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman
Peterson, that the following resolution be adopted:

California, under date of March 6th, 1940, entered into 'an
agreement with Coates and Herfurth, Consulting Actuaries,

been given due consideration an election was held at which the
voters authorized the City's participation in said State Employees'
Retirement System; and
WHEREAS; upon advising said Retirement System of the City's.
