1942 OCT 16 CC MINQ: 257 El Segundo, California. October 16th, 1942. An adjourned regular- meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City on the above date, having-,been called to.order at 4:30 o'clock P. M. by George Love, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Gerow, Selby and Mayor Love. Councilmen Absent: Hesser and.Peterson. Moved by Councilman Sslby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, the regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried. A communication from Ruth K. Jones, Pastor, Four - Square Church, dated October 14th, 1942, was read, requesting a permit to hold street meetings at the corner of Richmond Street and Grand Avenue, October 16th, 17th and 18th, 1942, beginning at about the hour of 6:00 P.M. Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Mayor Love, that pursuant to.its request therefor, E1 Segundo Four - Square Church be granted permission to hold one -half hour street meetings at the Northeast corner of Richmond Street and Grand Avenue, on the evenings of October 16th, 17th and 18th, 1942;, beginning at the hour of 6:00 P. M., provided, however, that in event the :visibility is such at said hour or at any time during said meeting as to jeopardize the safety of any person or persons in attendance at said meeting, that then and .in that event the meeting shall be conducted elsewhere than on the public street.
