1941 NOV 04 CC MINE1 Segundo, California. November 4th, 1941. An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the -City of E1 Segundo, California,'was" held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City on the above date, having been called to order at 6:30 o'clock P. M. by Peter E. Binder, Mayor. ROLL CALL, Councilmen Present: Gerow, Rosser, Selby egad Mayor Binder. Councilmen Absent: Love. Other Officers Present: R. T. Hutchins - City Engineer. Victor D. McCarthy - City Clerk. Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, the regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried. A letter was read from W. L. Robinett, dated November lot', 1941, making application for a permit to conduct a pool room at 139 Richmond Street, within-the City of E1 Segundo. Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Hesser, the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, W. L. Robinett, by written application filed with this Council this date, has requested that a permit be granted him to conduct a Pool Room in the building situate No. 139 Richmond Street, in the City of E1 Segundo, California; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said applicant be and he is hereby granted permission to conduct a pool room at 139 Richmond Street, within said City ;'for the period-of------ ..- - one. year. from -. date hereof;-subject, however, to the right of the City Council of said City to sooner revoke the same, as provided in Ordinance No. 8 of the City of E1 Segundo and all ordinances amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall immediately issue a written permit unto said applicant there- for. The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Rosser, Selby and Mayor Binder, Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Love. LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES, dated October 31st, 1941, being its announcement of the holding of the 122nd regular monthly meeting of said organization at Whittier, Thursday, November 13th, 1941. Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that any member of the City Council desiring so to do, the City Clerk and the City Engineer be and they are hereby authorized to attend the 122nd regular monthly meeting of the League of California Cities at Whittier, California, Thursday, November 13th, 1941; and to file their demands for their actual and necessary expenses in connection with attendance at said meeting, such demands to be audited and approved in the usual manner before payment. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Rosser, Selby and Mayor Binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Love.
