1941 DEC 08 CC MINN" P .117JL El Segundo, California. December 8th, 1941. A special meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, was called to order at 4:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, Mayor, pursuant to the foregoing Consent to Special Meeting of the City Council and Waiver of Notice. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Gerow, Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder. Councilmen Absent: None. Other Officers Present: Victor D. McCarthy - City Clerk. Bernard Lawler - Special City Attorney. By general consent the regular order of business was dispensed with. Moved by Councilman Hesser, seconded by Councilman Love, that Resolution No. 594, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE.CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, :MENDING RESOLUTION NO. 563 OF SAID CITY, ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL•OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CREATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN PERMANENT AND TENTORARY COMMITTEES (TO BE KNOWN AS "DIVISIONSI OF THE DEFENSE COUNCIL OF SAID CITY, DEFINING THE DUTIES OF SUCH COMMITTEES, AND MAKING GENERAL PROVISIONS WITH REFERENCE THERETO. " -, PISSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 14TH DAY OF MAY, A. D. 19410 BY AMENDING THAT PORTION OF SECTION "1" ENTITLED: "MEDICAL, HEALTH AND SANITATION DIVISION" AND BY AMENDING THAT PART OF SECTION "1" "NECESSITIES OF LIFE AND SHELTER DIVISION" OF SAID RESOLUTION NO. 563, which was read, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilmen None. A letter from E1 Segundo Local Defense Council, dated December 8th, 1941, was read. Accompanying said letter was a resolution adopted by said Local Defense Council, recommending to the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo that one of the two pieces of fire apparatus, owned by said City, now housea/aaalacent to the City Hall building, be housed at another location somewhat removed from the City Hall, so that in event of catastrophe, both pieces of apparatus might not be rendered useless at the same time, ides said Defense Council believing such action will be in the best interests of the City of E1 Segundo•and its inhabitants. Ordered filed. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by Councilman Hesser, seconded by Councilman Gerow, the meeting adjourn.
