September 20, 1940.
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El
Segundo, California, was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall
of said City on the above date, having been called to order by the City
Clerk at the hour of 12:00 Noon, the Mayor being absent.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Hesser, Love and Selby.
Councilmen Absent: Binder and Gerow.
Other Officers Present:
Victor D. LcCarthy, City Clerk.
By general consent Councilman Hesser was chosen Mayor pro tem and
he i- mmediately assumed the duties of the Mayor.
By general consent the regular order of business was dispensed with.

allowed and warrants ordered drawn on and paid out of the respective funds
covering the same. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Love and Selby.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen Binder and Gerow.
NEW BUSINESS.
Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love, the Altar
Society of St. Anthony's Church be and it is hereby granted permission to
use the City Hall Auditorium on the evening of October 1st, 1940, for the
purpose of holding a benefit card party, no charge to be made for such
use. Carried.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this session, it
was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby, the meeting
adjourn. Carried.
