U 150; pressure TRIPLE COMBINATION PUMPING ENGINE and equipment, we are pleased to submit the attached specifications and the following quotation for your consideration. The United States Fire Engine Corporation of Los Angeles are the distributors for the Kenworth Motor Truck Corp. of Seattle, Washington, a concern that has been continuously engaged in the manufacture of motor propelled vehicles for a period in excess of twenty -five years. For the past twelve years, the company has been engaged in the manufacture of fire fighting apparatus of every type and have sold many of the outstanding fire departments on the Pacific Coast their equipment. For reference, we are pleased to submit the following departments: Los.Angeles Fire Department, Los Angeles, California Portland Fire Department,•Portland,Oregon Spokane Fire Department, Spokane, Washington Huntington Park Fire Department, Huntington Park, California •Tacoma.Fire Department, Tacoma, Washington and many others can be furnished on request. In addition to the many fire.departments for which we have furnished'fire apparatus, we have d)h the Pacific Coast alone, furnished HaLl Scott engines.f.or re- powering over. 100 different makes of fire trucks, particularly, American LeFrance, Seagrave and Mack. A complete list of these trucks will be gladly furnished on reauest. The Los Angeles Fire Department alone now have thirteen Hall Scott motors which have replaced other makes and we respectfully refer you to the Mechanical Division of that department for any information regarding this product. The,Hall Scott motor which we propose to furnish for the apparatus which we are bidding for your department is generally conceded to be the finest engine built for fire service. This is obviously the fact as practically every fire truck that has been re- powered on the Pacific Coast, has been re- powered with this engine, and we hope that we will be given the privilege of demonstrating its superiority on any occasion desired by the members of your board against any competitive product. We :.ish to point out the fact that the Ball Scott engine we propose to furnish develops a brake horsepower in excess of 240 horsepower, but far more important than that, this engine develops 740 ft. lbs. of torque at 1200 rpm, which guarantees performance for fire service far in excess of any engine built in the world. Your attention is directed to the fact that this engine will deliver the gallonage desired under your specifica- tions at a far less'kpm than any other engine of its horsepower, and the fact that it is a 6 cylinder engine insures you of the very maximum of life and of the very minimum of up -keep. The Hall Scott engine is manufactured at Berkeley, California, and like every part of our apparatus, a complete stock of parts is available in Los Angeles. Each and every part which goes into the manufacture of our equip- ment is available, not only through this company, but can be purchased direct from the manufacturer's local warehouse or any automotive jobbing house. Each and every part is standard; thereby assuring you that.this apparatus will never become obsolete and also that the parts can always be purchased at minimum prices from legitimate automotive parts houses and factory warehouses. In view of the fact that the Kenworth Motor Truck,Corp. and the Hall Scott Motor Car Company have thousands of units in operation in this.territory, the very finest mechanical service is available to your department. Factcry trained men call periodically to thoroughly inspect the apparatus and see that it is operating in the mechanical fashion it should be. It is the attitude of this company that the responsibility for the operation of any equipment sold by us ends only at the time the apparatus is worn out and removed from service. Not after it has been sold and we have received the check. We are pleased to quote as follows: 1 - 750 Gal. Triple Combination Pumping Engine and equipment, with fine grain cast iron pump housing. F.O.B. Los Angeles (El Segundo) plus applicable taxes $12.880.00 1 - 750 gal. Triple Combination Pumping Engine and equipment with all bronze pump housing, and non - corrosive parts. F.O.B.
