A regular meeting of the City-Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:.00 o'clock P. M. on the above date
in the Council Chamber of-the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder,,
Mayor,
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: • Gerow, Hesser and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Love and Selby.
Other Officers Present:
Victor D. McCarthy,-City Clerk.
Frank H. Chilson - Asst. City Engineer.
Moved by Councilraan•Gerow, seconded by Councilman Hesser, the
regular order of business be dispensed with. Carried.
The Mayor announoed• the appointment of Councilman Hesser as member
of the Finance Committee pro tem to serve in that capacity during the. ,
vacation and leave of absence of Councilman Selby.

Moved by Councilman Hesser, seconded by Councilman Gerow, the demands
be allowed and warrants ordered drawn.on and paid out of the respective funds
covering -the same. Carried by the following vote:
• Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser and Mayor Binder.
• Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen Love and Selby.
SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESSS.
The hour of 7:15 o'clock P. M. at this meeting, having been heretofore
fixed as the time and place for considering bids heretofore received on July 12th,
1939, flor furnishing the City of El Segundo with approximately 2000 feet.of cast
iron water pipe, and said hour having arrived, the Mayor announced that the Council
would now proceed with the consideration of said bids..
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by.CouAcilman
Hesser; that when this meeting adjourns, it adjourn until the hour oP 7:00 P. M.,
Thursday, July 20th, 1939, and that consideration of the bids received July 12th,
1939, for furnishing the City of E1 Segundo with approximately 2000 feet of cast
iron water pipe be taken under further condideration.until the hour of 7:15
P.. M. at said meeting. Carried.
It was thereafter moved-by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman
Hesser; that this meeting adjourn until Thursday, Ju_ly.20th, 1939, at the hour
of 7:00 P. M. Carried.
