. The Chief of Police announced the revocation of the appointment of
F. C. Goodrich as a Special Police Officer.
The City Engineer reported that his assistant, Frank Chilson, had
attended a meeting at Torrance, March 17th, 1938, at which time an
organization known as the Southwest Highways Association was formed, for
the purpose of promoting the construction of a state Highway on Hawthorne
Boulevard through Hawthorne; that a further meeting will be hel March
31st at the Palos Verdes Country Qlub, Palos Verdes, to which meeting
members of the City Council are Invited.
The City Attorney reported that he had redrawn the resolution
heretofore presented this Council for consideration, with respect to the
creation of a Recreation Commission. The resolution in its amended
form was read to the Council, after which it was moved by Councilman Gerow,
seconded by Councilman Love, that Resolution No. 448, entitled:
