2 (3)0-223 CIVIC UNION OF PLAYA DEL REY, dated March 21, 1938, being copy of its letter addressed to the Los Angeles City Board of Health, respecting the dumping of sewage screenings at a location easterly of and only a few hundred feet distant from the subdivision known as Surfridge in the Del Rey area. The communication was ordered filed and the City Engineer requested to investigate the situation and report back to the Council. MALE B. BEA=, Chief Clerk, Board of Supervisors, dated Lurch 18th, 19381 transmitting copy of a certain resolution adopted by the Board of Super- visors of Los Angeles County, Larch 16th, 1938, appropriating 01600.00 from the Special Road Improvement Fund of the Bounty to aid in the improvement of E1 Segundo Boulevard at a point viesterly of Sepulveda Boulevard within the City of E1 Segundo. Moved by Councilman Hesser, seconded by Councilman Love, the corz=ication be received and placed on file in the office of the City _Clerk, and that vrritten request be made forthwith upon the Road Commissioner of Los Angeles County for the payment to the City of El Segundo of the sum of $1600.00 referred to in said resolution, to be expended by the City of E1 Segundo in accordance with the terms and provisions of said before mentioned resolution. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder, Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilmen None. BUR=T BULLETIN SYSTEM., dated March 21st, 1938, applying for permits to maintain and operate bulletin boards on the West side of Sepulveda Boulevard, approximately midway between Walnut Avenue and Maple Avenue. Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Hesser, the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, that Burkhart Bulletin System be and it is hereby granted permission to erect two advertising sign boards, said signs to be erected and maintained in all respects in conformity with ordinances of the City of El Segundo respecting the erection of advertising signs; pro- vided, however, that said signs are erected on private property on the West side of Sepulveda Boulevard, between Maple Avenue and Walnut Avenue, being on a portion of Lot 14, Block 107, E1 Segundo, at such points on such private property as will not prevent operators of motor or other vehicles from having a clear and unobstructed view of the highway in all directions for a sufficient distance to enable the operators of any such vehicles to operate the same in a safe manner and so as not to endanger life or property; and Provided further, that upon the commencing of the erection of said advertising signs, said Burkhart Bulletin System shall forthwith pay into the Treasury of the City of E1 Segundo license fees as fixed by ordinance of said City for the maintenance of such signs; and Provided further, that the City Council of the,City of El Segundo reserves the right to revoke this permit at any time upon refunding to•the said Burkhart Bulletin System the pro rata portion of the license fees paid therefor, whenever, in the discretion of said Coiincil" the public interest and necessity or safety of said City demands that same be, revoked.
