Petition dated March 2nd, 1938, signed by R. I.I. Frederick and 98 others, petitioning the City Council to cause to be placed upon the ballot to be used at the municipal election to be held in this City April 12th, 1938, the pro- position of increasing the salary of the members of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo from $25.00 per month to $50.00 per month. The matter was laid on the table-for consideration later during this meeting. ORAL ' COM=CATIONS. John Hul4ibarger, Mrs., 0. T.Y. Foster, Jack Carter, Mihran H. Anthony and Lee Stracner each addressed the Council - relative to the accumulation of storm waters at the corner of Palm Avenue and Virginia Street, inquiring what relief, if any, is contemplated. They were advised by the Mayor that while it is impossible at this late date to afford a great amount of relief during the present winter season, it is proposed to provide all relief possible at as early a date as is practicable. The City Clerk reported that pursuant to instruction he had referred to the Board of Trustees of El Segundo Unified School District, a copy of the resolution creating a Recreation Commission in and for the City of E1 Segundo as prepared by the City Attorney and presented to this Council February 23rd, 1938 for consideration; that this date he had received a telephone communication from ILLr. C. L. Broadwater, Secretary of said Board, to the effect that the forts had been submitted to the County Counsel of Los Angeles County, who questioned the meaning or interpretation of Sections 9 and 10 of said Resolution and that further.conferences were to be had respecting the matter. The Clerk stated he suggested to Mr. Broadwater that in event the matter is not clarified that the County Counsel co=mmicate directly with Mr. Clyde Woodworth, City Attorney, The City Attorney reported he had prepared the proceedings for calling the General Municipal Election to be held in April, 1938, which he would now deliver to the City Clerk; Also that he would deliver to the City Clerk his Trailer Ordinance file, which the Council at a 'previous meeting had requested for perusal; Also he has handed the Clerk the form of ordinance to be adopted in connection with the vacation for public street purposes of a portion of Richmond Street.
