1938 DEC 06 CC MINP 39 I".. El Segundo, California. December 6th, 1938. A special meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, was called to order at 4:30 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, Mayor, pursuant to the foregoing Consent to Special Meeting of the City Council and Waiver of Notice. . ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Gerow, Hesser, Love and Mayor Binder. -Councilmen Absent: Selby. By general consent the regular order of business was dispensed with. The City Clerk presented to the Council a form of Grant Deed, which he had received from the City Attorney, conveying title to Lots 1 to 6 inclusive, of Tract No. 10058, as per map recorded in Book 142, Page 17 of Maps, on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County, to the City of E1 Segundo, subject to certain conditions, reservations, restrictions and rights of way; to the second installment of taxes for the fiscal year 1938 -39, and assessments levied- under Municipal Improvement District No. 1 proceedings of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo; and also -to outstanding royalty interests of record, if -.any, of certain persons, all as recited in said deed; that if it meets with the Council's pleasure it would be desirable-to accept said deed at this time to expedite the closing of the escrow with Security - First National Bank of Los Angeles, Inglewood Branch, opened in connection with the - purchase of this property and to enable the City to award contracts for the drilling of K fresh water well No. 5 and for the furnishing of certain welded steel pipe to be used in connection with conveying water from said water well to the municipal water plant site. Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Hesser, seconded by Councilman Gerovr, the following resolution be adopted:. RESOLVED, that that certain Grant Deed from Ethel V.= Ainsworth and Walter C. Ainsworth, Sr., her husband, to the City,of E1 Segundo, dated December 5th, 1938, conveying to said City <the following described real property; in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, to -wit: Lots, One (1) to Six (6) inclusive, of Tract Number 10058, as per map recorded in Book 142, Page 17 of Maps, in the office of the .County Recorder of said County, for public purposes, be and the same is hereby accepted by and .on behalf of the City of El Segundo; provided, however, that $$250.00 of the heretofore - agreed upon purchase price for said lots be withheld for payment- to'the grantors after removal of the encumbrances created by the outstanding royalty interests of ti's. T. Mi4calhy and Lucretia L. Mulcahy, his wife, Harold Van Cleevan and L. C. Roberts; AND BE IT FURMER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to cause the said Deed to be placed of record in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California. The-foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote: - Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Love and Mayor Binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Selby. No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Love, the meeting adjourn. Carried.
