M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter E. Binder, Mayor. ROLL CALL. Councilmen Present: Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Binder. Councilmen Absent: Love. READI:-;G OF MINUTES CF PREVIOUS =TING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the lst day of December, 1937, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, the minutes be approved as read. Carried. '.RITTF.N C=MaCATIONS . Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Love. W. F. TOLSON, Mayor, City of Torrance, California, inviting the Mayor and Councilmen and other city officials to attend the meeting of the Los kngeles County League of Municipalities, which will be held in Torrance, Thursday, December 16th, 1937. Mayor Binder and Councilman Hesser, indicated that they intended to be present at the meeting. None. None. ORAL 000,UNICATIONS. REPORTS OFSTANDING COMMITTEES. REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL CO1ZTITT="S. The City Engineer reported that he had received from Mr. Cornell, Landscape Gardener, map showing the proposed improvements to be installed in the parkings in Richmond Street, between Mariposa Avenue and Palm Avenue. The Superintendent of the Water Department reported having received from Dr. Carl ,,Jilson, consulting technologist in water supply, a communication, in dupliate, dated December 8th, 1937, setting forth his findings and suggestions with reference to the water supply of the City of E1 Segundo. The communication being lengthy, the :Mater Superintendent delivered the original thereof to the City Clerk for filing and reference and by general consent it was decided to read the communication and discuss the subject matter thereof informally after this meeting. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS. The hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M. at this meeting having heretofore been set as the time and place for consideration of the bids received December 1st, 1937, for furnishing the City of E1 Segundo with certain motor vehicle equipment,- the 1.7ayor announced the arrival of said hour and that the Council would proceed with the_ consider&tion*of said bids. After consideration of said bids and a discussion had with reference to the merits of the respective makes of vehicle bid upon, the prices thereof having been taken into consideration, it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that Resolution No. 436, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUIMC, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING TO IRA E. ESCOBAR THE CONTACT FOR FURBISHING SAID CITY ;ITH ONE NEW SEDAN TYPE AUTOI:03ILE FOR USE IN POLICE 7JORK, which was read, be adopted.
