A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City.Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder,
Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen'Present: Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Love.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 10th day of June,
1936, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
LOS ANGELES COUNTY LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES, dated June 11th, 1936,
announcing the.65th Regular Monthly Meeting of said League, to be held in.
the Foyer of Town and Gown, on the Campus of the University of Southern
California, Thursday evening, June 18th, 1936. Ordered filed.
WESTERN PARKRITE COMPANY, dated June 12th, 1936, requesting an
opportunity to demonetrste'parking meters when the City is in the market
for anything of this character. Ordered.filed.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS.
Mr. Edward McGrath advised the Council that it is desired to form
a Soft Baseball League, playing the games at El' Segundo I and he requested
that certain improvements be made in and at the baseball grounds recently
leased by the City of El Segundo at the High School Athletic Field.
The Council discussed the matter at some length, following which Mr.
McGrath was instructed to advise the City Clerk in advance the dates upon
which the grounds would be desired, and that the Council would
investigate_ rights as to the use of said grounds. .
By common consent, Mayor Binder and Councilman Lave were designated
as a Committee to confer with Mr. C. L. Broadwater, Principal of E1 Segundo
High School, as to the privileges which might be exercised by the City in its
use of the baseball grounds; and thereafter to make a survey of the grounds
to ascertain what 'repairs and appurtenances are necessary and to report back
to this Council at its next regular meeting.

Mr. C. B. McConnell, Chairman of •E1 Segundo Safety Council, filed
his report of the meeting and investigations of said Committee, held June
16th, 1936. Said report was ordered filed for future reference.

Street Supt., and Mr. IL N. Sumner, Asst. Water Shpt., each reported as to
his respective department.
