No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the minutes be apprdved -as read.' -- Carried. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS; The following communications, imre read and disposed of as indicated: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TELEPHONE COMPANY, dated June 25th, 1956s, requesting permission to install two poles in Mariposa Avenue, west of Sepulveda Boulevard. In the absence of the City Engineer, the Mayor inspected the locations at which it is proposed to erect said poles and recommended that the permit be granted. Moved -by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby, that Southern California Telephone Company, pursuant to its application dated June 25th, 1936, No. RO 40577, be and it is hereby granted permission to erect one pole on the South side of Mariposa Avenue, approximately 100 feet west of Sepulveda Boulevard and one pole on the Southwest corner of Mariposa Avenue and Indiana Street, within the City of El Segundo, such work to be prosecuted and completed to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent of said City. Carried. JOHN C. AUSTIN and FREDERIC M. ASHLEY, Architects, dated June 30th 1936, re El Segundo Public Library, Dalifornia Docket 128? R, transmitting addenda to the specifications for the construction of E1 Segundo Public Library building and a form of Notice to Contractors to be used in inviting bids for the doing of said work. Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love, that the following resolution be adopted: RESOLVED, that the communication from Messrs. Austin and Ashley, bearing date the 30th of June, 1936, be received and placed on file in the office of the City Clerk for the purposes of identification and reference, together with a copy of enclosures therein contained; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Council hereby approves the addenda to said specifications as set forth in said communication and accompanying papers, and the form of Notice Inviting Bids therewith enclosed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorised and instructed to publish Notice Inviting Bids for the doing of said work, said notice to be published substantially in the form of notice enclosed in said communication and to be published in the time, form and manner r Q. Mowed by Councilman'Gerow, seconded by Councilman Love, that El Segundo Recreational Council be and'it is hereby'granted permission to use'the City Hall Auditorium, July 10th, 1936, for the purpose of giving a'dance, no' charge to be made for such use. Carried. Moved by Councilman Gerow,'seconded by Councilman Love, that the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, on June 29th, 1936s it *became necessary to employ Mr. J. Schoening in the Fire Department of the City of El Segundo to relieve.Mr. George VeLauchlin, a regular fire engine driver, who, ' on that date, was on his vacation;'and WHEREAS, it is not convenient or practicable to allow Mr. Schoening time off for the overtime worked by him; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that notwithstanding any former order or resolution of this Council respecting the matter of.compensating municipal employees, compensated on $ monthly basis, for overtime work in the city's employ, that in this'instance Mr. Schoening be compen sated for said overtime at the rate of X11.5.00 per month. s The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following voter Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Love � Selby and Mayor Binder.
