LOCAL OPTION LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA, dated January 22nd, 1956, submitting
the latest revised tentative draft of a proposed liquor control amendment to
the State Constitution. Ordered filed.

Mr. K. E. Campbell reported with respect to his activities in connectioi
with tree planting and care and advised of his need of approximately'500 tree
stakes. By general consent the Street Superintendent was instructed to
ascertain if it is possible to'purchase sufficient second hand pipe suitable
for making the required stakes. .
The City Engineer reported receipt'of a'letter'from the Department of
Public Works of the State of California, dated January 20th, 1956, advising
of a revision in estimates of the apportionment of the 1/4# gasoline tax.
allocation for city streets and for State highways within cities, with which
was submitted a list of dities and details of the increased allocations.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Hesser,,that the following
resolution be adopted:
WHEREAS, during the recent past, this Council has received
numerous resolutions requesting said Council to install or cause
to be installed boulevard stop signs on Sepulveda Boulevard at.
the Northerly and Southerly property lines of Imperial Highway
.from local, civic and fraternal bodies; and
WHEREAS, these resolutions express a sentiment I which I.co

allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the general fund covering the same.
Carried by the following vote:

NEW BUSINESS.
City Engineer Hutchins reported having conferred with Mr. Gripper of the
Division of Highways of the State of California respecting the rental charged
for road equipment in general use in this vicinity. It developed that the
rates are not uniform, but that the State would approve and accept billing
if the charge made by the City of El Segundo is reasonable for any of its
equipment used on streets, the maintenance or repair of which is a charge.

It was thereupon moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman-Hesser,
that the following resolution be adopted:
