California., was called to order at 7 :00 otclock P. M. on-the above
date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City by Peter E.
Binder$ Mayor.

READING OF MIMES OF PREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 13th day of February,
1936, were read, without error or omission appearing, and were approved
as read upon motion of Councilmen Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, -
which carried.

The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: _^
LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA MUNICIPALITIES, its Bulletin No. 6, dated
February 17, 1936, submitting additional information about the proposed
liquor legislation. Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman
Hesser, that the City Clerk be directed to address a communication to
said League to the effect that the City Council of the City of El Segundo
is in.favor of liquor control regulations Linder some such plan as
suggested in the said'Leaguets bulletin No. 6, Carried by the following

MAME B. BEATTY, Chief Clerk, Board of Supervisors, dated February
13, 1936, transmitting a copy of a certain resolution adopted by the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, February 10, 1936,
declaring Imperial Highway, from Inglewood— Redondo Road to Sepulveda
Boulevard,_no longer to be•a part.of the County system of highways.

WORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION, dated February 17, 1936, expressing
appreciation of the Community Garden Project for the Council's
cooperation in providing said project with free water for agricultural
purposes, as set forth in said Council's resolution adopted February 13,

Messrs. Chas. A. Payne and Wilbur S. Bailey, on behalf of Lodge'No. 435,

each addressed the Council with reference to remodeling the second floor of
the City Hall Building, so as to provide adequate kitchen and dining room
accomodations for users of the City Hall Auditoriums-.
The matter was discussed to some extent, at the conclusion of which
the Mayor, with the consent-of the members of the Council, advised the
petitioners that in view of other matters pending, it is doubtful if there
are sufficient uapledged funds in the City Treasury to make the.changea_ desired,
but.that within two weeks time something definite should be known as to the
uncertain matters now

buildings of the City of El Segundo be insured against lbss by fire in a total
amount of $42,000.00 for a total premium of not to exceed $575.00, for a term of
five years, said indemnity to be written through the insurance firm'of Seeley &

# SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS.
At the hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. M., said hour at this meeting, having heretofore
been fixed as the time for considering bids received Feb. 7, 1936 for furnishing
labor, materials, etc. for constructing a public library building in and for :.the
City of E1 Segundo, California, further consideration was given to said bids so
received, and it was moved by Councilman Selbyp' seconded by Councilman Love'and '
unanimously carried, that all'of said bids be taken under further advisement until
the hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. Y.. March 4. 1956.
