1936 APR 29 CC MINLae= N 2 El Segundo, California. April 29th, 1936. A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of'El.Segundo, California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P.. V. on the above date, in the-Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder, Mayor. ROLL CALL, Councilmen Present: Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Binder. Councilmen Absent; Lave. READING OF MINUTES OF PRE7IOUS MEETING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 22nd day of April, 1936,.were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilmen Hesser, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TELEPHONE COMPANY , dated April 23rd, 1936, two requests for permits to excavate in certain public streets within the City of E1 Segundo for the purpose of installing pole anchors and gtV wires. Moved by Councilman Hesser, seconded by Councilman Selby, that Southern California Telephone Company be and it is hereby given permission ' to excavate in certain public streets within the City of E1 Segimdo.as .. follows: In the north side of Grand Avenue at the Northeast corner of Kansas street and on the North'side'of Grand Avenue at a point 120 feet Westerly of Washii:gton Street; also in the North side of Grand Avenue at a point 20 feet easterly of Center Street; each excavation for the purpose of installing an anchor guy for existing poles adjacent to said locations; this permit being granted subject to the installations referred to being prosecuted and completed to the satisfaction of the Street Superintendent of the City of El Segundo. Carried. J. E. REDDINGTON, dated April 28th, 1936, requesting the installation of a street light at the corner of West Walnut Avenue and Cedar Street. Moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorised and directed to request Southern California Edison Company to install a goose neck street light at the corner of hest Walnut Avenue and Cedar Street, such installation to be as an addition to the current street lighting contract with said Company. Carried by the following votes Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Binder.. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Love. GEORGE T. HUNT, dated-April 25th, 1936, being an application to operate a billiard parlor at No. 101 Richmond Street, within the City of El Segundo.
