A regular meeting of the City,Council of the City of EI Segundq,.Californ1"',
was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. W. on the above date, in the Council
Chamber of the,City Hall of said City,•14y -the City- Clerk, the-Mayor being absent.
Councilman Gerowvas unanimously chosen Mayor pro -tem and-he immediately.,assumed 4
the duties of the Mayor.

READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on -the 1st day of April; 1936,
and of the adjourned regular meeting held on the 7th.day of April, 1936,.were read.
No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by
Councilman Selby,, that said minutes be approved as.read. Carried.

The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
STATE COMPENSATION INSURANCE FUND, dated April lst, 1936,,beariAg,the

Mr. Ray F. Childers was present at the meeting and.exhlbited cuts of

his Company's fittings and explained their use and Building Inspector R. T.

Hutchins likewise was present at the meeting and explained his decision in the
matter hinged upon the interpretation - of one sentence in the plumbing ordinance
of the City of El Segundo.
Following an examination of cuts of the fittings referred too., it was
moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love, that the following
resolution be.adopted.
RESOLVED, that Catalogue "C" describing Bennett Adjust4b1e
Tall Hung Closet Fittings as submitted to this Council for
examination this date by Bennett Fittings, Inc. of Los An
-_
be and the same is hereby ordered filed with the City Clerk of
the City of El Segundo for identification and reference; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the communication of Bennett
Fittings, Inc., dated April 8th, 1936, signed by Ray F. Childers., .
Yanager of Sales, respecting the use of Bennett fittings in the
new El Segundo Elementary Public School be and the same is hereby

Inspector of the City of E1 Segundo with the instructions
of this Council that in its opinion the union between
the assembly members of the Bennett fixture as sho= in
said catalogue is not a "joint" within the meaning of
Section 6 of Ordinance No. 78 of the City of El Segundo.
