October 16th, 1935.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E. Binder,
Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Hesser, Love Selby and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: None.
READING OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 9th day of October, -
1935, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved
as read. Carried.
WRITTEN COA UIUNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
LOS ANGELES CHAMBER OF COIEAERCE, West Los Angeles, dated October 7th,
1935, urging cooperation in making the Sepulveda Highway celebration on
October 20th, 1935, a success. Ordered filed.
CITY PLANNERS ASSOCIATION, Los Angeles County, dated October 8th, 1935,
submitting a list of WPA projects in Los Angeles County which were scheduled
to start October 8th, 1935, requesting that the same be examined and criticisms
thereon returned to said Association. By general consent the communication
was received and ordered filed and the City Clerk directed to make appropriate
reply.
MRS. BROCK, residing at Sepulveda Boulevard and Maple Avenue, requesting
the installation of a fire hydrant adjacent to her property. By general
consent the matter was referred to the Water Superintendent for investigation
and report to the Council as to costs.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES, dated October 11th, 1935,
being notice of the 57th regular meeting of said League, to be held at Culver
City, October 17th. The communication was ordered filed and it was indicated
that Mayor Binder, Councilman Hesser and City Clerk McCarthy would attend said
meeting.
R-kYMOND V. DARBY, Mayor, Inglewood, dated October 11th, 1935; requesting
information as to projects submitted to WPA and whether or not any of them
have been approved. The City Clerk advised he had replied to the communication
and it was ordered filed.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COMMITTEES.
The City Engineer advised having conferred with the owner of the corn
planted in the field north of the residence of Andy Anderson on Virginia Street,
and that said person will clean off the land within a week.
The City Attorney drew attention to the provisions of Chapter 82, Statutes
1935, requiring that a report with relation to the bonded indebtedness of
M-28,31
the proper governmental cy.� inPrirtm endeavor to obtain reporting blanks
and will advise later respecting the matter.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Moved, by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that Ordinance
No. 199,.entitled:.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
RELATING TO THE CARE AND EXPENDITURE OF MONEYS
RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 50 CHEPTER 11 DIVISION I OF
THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE,
which was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council held
on October 9th, 1955, and reread at this meeting, be adopted. Carried by
the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
