An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 4:15 o'clock P. M. onEthe above Mayor. tep in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall of said y, by
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: Gerow.
Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love, that the regular
order of business be dispensed with. Carried.

be allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the respective funds covering
the same. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder..
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the City Clerk
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to purchase, as equipment for the
City Hall Auditorium, five dozen small plates, five dozen teaspoons and five
dozen forks, at a total cost of not to exceed $50.00. Carried by the following
vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
!Absent: Councilman Gerow.
The City Clerk reported that at the date of the death of F. J. Hope, to —wit:
November 19th, 1954, there was due the deceased for services rendered the City
of El Segundo as a member of the Fire Department of said City for the month
of October, 1954, the sum of $5.50, as evidenced by warrant No. 25700, ordered
drawn and paid by the City Council at its regular meeting held January 2nd, 1955,
and that his widow, Alice Hope, has filed an affidavit, setting forth the fact
that the said F. J. Hope left no estate or property which requires probate, and
that therefore no probate proceedings are contemplated; that she is the surviving
widow of said deceased, and that all of the said earnings of the said deceased
were community property, and praying that the said balance of $5.50 so earned
by said F. J. Hope and constituting community property, be paid to her.
It was thereupon moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love,
that in view of the affidavit of Alice Hope respecting services rendered the
City of El Segundo by her dsceased husband, filed with this Council this date,
the City of El Segundo Warrant No. 25700, ordered drawn and paid January 2nd,
1955, in payment of services rendered the City of El Segundo by F. J. Hope..
between the dates October 1st, 1954 and November 19th, 1954, be and'the same
is hereby ordered cancelled, and the City Clerk of the City, of E1 Segundo is
hereby authorized to draw anew warrant in the sum of $3.50, payable to the
order of Alice Hope, in payment of the services rendered the City of E1 Segundo
by her deceased husband, between the dates hereinbefore mentioned, and the Mayor
of said City is hereby authorized to sign the same, and the City Treasurer is
authorized to accept the same and pay said warrant upon presentation. Carried
by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilman Gerow.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was
moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love.. that the meeting
adjourn. Carried.
