Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that the following
resolution be adopted: v
W- HEEEAS, J. T`. Miller and L. E. Loe, members of El
Segundo Fire Deoartment, on the 20th day of December, 1933,
were, by this Council, granted leave of absence for the
:,eriod be ,-inninv January lst, 1934 and ending Septemlher 1st,
1934; and
- IFRI -i.S, C. K. ivicConnell, Chief of El Segundo Fire
Deoartment, has reported to this Council this date that he
had restored the said J. T-. Miller and the said L. E. Loe
to active duty in said El Segundo Fire Department on August
1st and October 1st respectively, 1934, and had inadvertently
failed to advise the Council of his action; and
VaEREAS, it appears from the records of said El Segundo
Fire Department that said J. W. Miller and said. L. E. Loe
have answered fire calls and participated in regular Department
drills in accordance with Department rerula.tions since the
dates mentioned ;
NOT THERF"'ORE, EL IT RESOLVED, that the action of the Fire
Chief of E1 Segundo Fire Department, taken as aforesaid and
renorted to this Council this date, be and the same is hereby
ratified, approved and confirmed and that said Deoartment
employees be restored to theEBre Department Payroll. as of the
dates of their return to active Fire Department duty as aforesaid.

Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that the following
resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized
and instructed to publish a notice inviting sealed bids to be
received up to the hour of 7:15 o'clock P. Mi. on Wednesday, the
12th day of December, 1934, for furnishing the following materials
to the City of El Sec-undo, to -wit:
1. 730 Yards of No..3'Crushed Rock,-to conform to
specifications No. 7 of the City of El Segundo
for the Construction of Cement Curbs.
2. 4750 Sacks of Portland Cement (Common) to conform
to Specifications No. 7 of the City of E1 Segundo
for the Construction of Cement Curbs.
3. 410 Yards of sand to conform to Specifications No.
7 of the City of El Segundo for the Construction
of Cement Curbs.

Bidders in bidding will be invited to bid on unit
prices and the Council reserves the right to order more
or less than the cuantities above indicated at the unit
prices bid. In all other respects said notice shall
be in form as may be prepared by the City Attorney.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Hesser, Love and ;Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen Gerow and Selby.
Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that the
following resolution be adopted:
RESIOLUD, that it is the sense of this Council that
Boulevard Stops should be established on Sepulveda Boulevard
at Imperial Highway, as traffic conditions, in the opinion of
this Council, at said location justify the same;
AiL BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in view of the fact that
said Sepulveda Boulevard is a major State Highway, that the
attitude of this Council with respect to the establishment of
such Boulevard Stops be communicated to the Division of Highways
of the State of California, with a request that said Division
seriously consider the establishment of such Boulevard Stops,
and co-municate their views with reference thereto to the said
Council at an early date, so that this Council may be advised
With reference to such views prior to takinu any further
official action with reference to the establishment of such
stops.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:

meeting adjourn. Carried.
