An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1
Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 otclock P. M. on the
above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by
Peter E. Binder, Mayor..
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Hesser, Love and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent:, Selby.
READ OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS FETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting he'-d on the 27th day of June, 1934,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman
Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the minutes be approved as read. .

Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the demands be
allowed and warrants drawn on and paid out of the .resp%ctive funds covering the sans.
Carried by -the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser,- Love and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.

NEW BUSINESS.
Councilman Gerow explained that the Utopian Society of E1 Segundo, which
had heretofore made arrangements to rent the City Hall Auditorium on Tuesday nights
of each month, for the purpose of holding meetings of the Sdciety, desired to
change to Monday nights and on motion of Mayor Binder, seconded by Councilman Love,
which carried unanimously, this permission was granted.
Beloved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the following
resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, that William F. Allee, heretofore under Resolution
No. 298 of this Council adopted December 20th, 1933, designated as
Police Officer of the Fourth Class, be advanced to the rank of Police
Officer of the Second Class, effective July lst, 1934, and until the
further order of this Council, as Police Officer of the Second Class,
he shall be compensated at the rate of ;135.00 per month, payable
monthly as the compensation of other municipal employees, compensated
on a monthly basis, is paid;
AMID BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that effective July let, 1934, and
until the further order of this Council, Police Officer C. C. Havens,
heretofore in the resolution hereinbefore referred to, designated as
a Police Officer of the Second Class, be advanced to the rank of
Police Officer of the First Class, and shall receive as compensation
in full for his services the sum of $143.10 per month, payable
monthly as other municipal employees compensated on a monthly basis
are paid. The hereinbefore named police officew shall perform the
duties usually assigned police officers and such other duties as may
from time to time be assigned to them under the direction and super-
vision of the Chief of Police of the City of E1 Segundo.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Rosser, Love and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent; Councilman Selby.
Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Hesser, that the Street
Superintendent of the City of El Segundo be authorized to employ Robert Grow
in the Street Department of the City of E1 Segundo. Said employee shall perform
such work as may be assigned to him by the Street Superintendent of said City and
until the further order of this Council, said employee shall be compensated at
the rate of 62¢ per hour for all services actually rendered the City of El
Segundo, which said compensation shall be paid semi - monthly at such times as
ocher municipal employees compensated on an hourly basis are paid. Carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Rosser, Love and Ylayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilman Selby.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting, it was moved
By Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Reeser, that the meeting adjourn.
Carried.
