A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. ::. on the above date,
in the Council Uhamber of the City hall of said Uity, by Peter E. Binder,
L-ayor. .

The minutes of the regular meeting held on the Sth day of August,
1934, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman
Selby, seconded by Uouncilr,.an �erow, that the minutes be approved as read.
Carried.

SU 51T HOUSE :.:OVER, dated August 15th, 1534, being an application for a
permit to move a frame dwelling house from Hawthorne to a location within the
City of El Segundo.
The Uity vlark reported that the applicant had made the requisite
deposit and that the application contained a certificate of the Building
Inspector of the City of E1 Segundo to the effect that the building conforms
with ordinances of the City of El Segundo respecting buildings and containing
his recommendation that the permit applied for be granted.
Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that pursuant
to its application therefor, Sunset House Lover be and it is hereby granted
permission to move a one story frame dwelling house from its present location
on Hawthorne Boulevard at Broadway, Hawthorne, California, to a permanent
location on El Segundo Boulevard, approximatel,- one block westerly of 7nE,lewood-
Redondo Road. Said building shall be moved on the 16th day of Au�7ust, 1934,
beginning at about the hour of 6:00 A. L:. and shall be routed Westerly on
El Segundo Boulevard from Inglewood - Redondo Road. Permitee shall be required
to take all usual and necessary precautions during such time as said building
is being moved upon the public streets of the City of 1:1 Segundo, so as to safeguard
persons and property, and further, such removal shall be conducted to the
satisfaction of the Street Department and the Police Department of the City of 1%1
Segundo. Carried.
T. L. P01""ROY, L:. D., Los Angeles County Health Officer, dated
Auiz7ust 131-0h, 1934, submitting new contract for the performance of public health
services for the City of El Segundo, for one year beginning September 1st, 1934.
It appearing that the Council is assembling data for consideration in connection
with the probable renewal of its -existing, contract for health services, which
data has not as yet been studied, by general consent consideration of the
matter was deferred until the order of Unfinished Business at the next meeting
of the Council.

City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to request Southern
California Edison Company to install a goose neck street light at the
corner of Sycamore Avenue and Sheldon Street, the same to be in addition to
the current street lighting contract between the City of L1 Segundo and
Southern California Edison Company. "Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilman Love.
Loved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Hesser; that the
Street Superintendent of the City of L1 Segundo be authorized and directed to
complete the work of improving Lapham Street within the ::ity of E1 Segundo,
and tad[ to rent such equipment as is necessary in connection with said work,
at a cost of not to exceed 075.00. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen" Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilh='Love.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meet, it
was moved by Councilman ^grow, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the meeting
adjourn. Carried.
