Moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that the regular order of business be dispensed with. carried. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS. The Hour of 7 :00 o'clock P. M. at this meeting having heretofore been fixed as the time for considering the bid received September 13th, 19339 from Leslie R. Tarr, for the purchase of X45,000900 par value of bonds of Act of 1927 municipal Improvement District No. 1 of the City of El Segundo, and said hour having arrived, the Mayor announced the Council would proceed with the consideration of said bid. After consideration of the bid of Leslie R. Tarr for the purchase of $45,000.00 par value of bonds of Act of 1927 municipal Improvement District No. 1 of the City of E1 Segundo by said Council, it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by 8ouncilman Krimmel, that Resolution No. 286, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING AND SELLING TO LESLIE R. TARR THE $45,000.00 PAR VALUE BONDS OF ACT OF 1927 MUNICIPAL IMPROVE - DISTRICT NO. 1 OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, AND FIXING AND DETERMINING THE RATE OF INTEREST TO BE PAID THEREON, which was read, be adapted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Krimmel, Love and Mayor Binder. Noes: Councilman Gerow. Absent: Councilman Selby. A letter was read from S. V. Cortelyou, District Engineer, Division of Highways of the Department of Public Works of the State of California, dated September 11th, 1933, to the effect that the State will bear the total expense of clearing the right of way of the pipe lines and facilities of private companies, in order to proceed with the improvement of Arizona Drive through the City of El Segundo; that the said communication is formal notification of the approval of the State for the City to proceed on that basis and consenting, on behalf of the State, to the award of the contract for the furnishing of the materials and doing of the work of improving Arizona Drive, to the lowest responsible bidder. Ordered filed. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS. The hour of 7:15 o'clock P. M. at this meeting, having heretofore been fixed as the time for considering bids received September 8th, 1933, for furnishing all of the materials and for the performance of all of the work required in order to construct and complete the improvement of.Arizona Drive (State Highway No. 60), within the City of El Segundo, California, as contemplated in and under the plans and specifications for said project, which said bids were taken under advisement until this hour this date, and the hour of 7:15 o'clock P. M. having arrived, the Mayor announced that the Council would proceed with the consideration of said bids. It was thereupon moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Love, that the bids received September 6th, 1933, for furnishing all of the materials and for the performance of all of the work required in order to construct and complete the improvement of Arizona Drive (State highway No. 60) 262L, within the City of El Segundo, California, as contemplated in and under the Plans and specifications for said project, which said bids were taken under advisement until the hour of 7 :45 o'clock P. M. at a= -reollar meeting of the City Council held September 13th, 1933, and at said meeting taken under further advisement until the hour of of 7:15 o'clock P. M. this date, be taken under further advisement until the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M.:, Wednesday, September 20th, 1933. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Brimmel, Love and Mayor Binder. Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Selby. The City Attorney reported that the City Clerk had heretofore submitted to him for approval a certain form of standard contract used by Southern California Gas Company, with certain of its patrons, in connection with certain classes of service; that execution of said contract by the City of E1 Segundo will entitle it to a lower rate on certain gas consumption by the City of E1 Segundo and that he approves the form of contract as to form. Yollowing this report, it was moved by Councilman Krimmel, seconded by Councilman Love, that the Mayor of the City of El Segundo be and he is hereby authorized to sign that certain form of contract (Schedule B_2) between the City of El Segundo and Southern California Gas Company for furnishing the City of E1 Segundo with gas at No. 616 and 620 West Imperial Highway, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to attest the same and to cause the same to be filed with Southern California Gas Company. Carried. No further business appearing to be transacted at this session, it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Love, that the meeting adjourn.
