A regular meeting of the City Council of the �-it,f of -1 Segundo, California,
was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council
Chamber of the OitT, hall of said amity, by Peter E. 31nder, Fayor.

The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 12th day of July, 1933,
were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved b,r Councilman
Selb-•, seconded by Councilman Love, that t:.e minutes be approved as read.

1933, respecting conferences had in connection with the proposed leasing
of the baseball grounds by the City of E1 -Le,undo. Following discussion,
the Cle °'_r, by general consent, wes '::r:cted to request the High School
Trustees to declare the bEseball grounds a Recreation Center and the Layor
state,: that he wouie main confer with the High School Trustees on the
subject.

there*.ith is prosecuted and completed to'the satisfaction of the Street

The City Tbeasurer reported that certain installments of principal and
interest on twenty of the bonds issued in connection with the opening and
widening of Cypress and other Streets, within the City of E1 Segundo, which
said bonds are now owned by the City of E1 Segundo, are delinquents and she
inquired what action the Council desired her to take in connection therewith.
Discussion ensued, several of the Councilmen expressin,; the view that many of
these persons mad be awaiting to avail themselves of the financial assistance
which it is deemed will be made available in the very near future by Federal
Home Loan Bank.
Thereafter it was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman
Love, that the matter of delinquent principal and interest pa;ments on certain
of the Cypress any other Streets opening bonds, owned by the City* of El Segundo,
be taken under advisement until the first regular meeting in the month of
September, 1933, subject, however, to the right of this Council to call the
matter up prior thereto, if deemed necessary or desirable. Carried.
The City Attorney reported progress in the matter of the Sepulveda
Boulevard condemnation action, stating that the only waiver now required is
from the Southern California Edison Company, and that upon receipt of this
waiver, he will then be in position to make application to the Court for
immediate possession.

Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love, that the City Clerk
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to send a telegram to the Senator
and Assemblyman from this District, indicating this Council's opposition to env
legislation which has for its purpose lowering of the minimum interest ratetSe
paid by depositaries on public funds from 20 to 1%. Carried by the following vote:
