February 8th, 1933.
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, was called to order at 7 :00 o'clock P. M. on the above date,
in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter E.
Binder, Mayor.
ROLL CALL.
Councilmen Present: Gerow, Krimmel, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Councilmen Absent: None.
READING OF K=S OF PREVIOUS MEETING.
The minutes of the regular meeting held on the 1st day of February,
1933, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by
Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that the minutes be
approved as read. Carried.
WRITTEN COM VNICATIONS.
The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated:
CITY OF SAN GABRIEL, advising of a meeting of the Los Angeles
County League of Municipalities, to be held at the City Hall, San
Gabriel, February 9th, 1933, beginning at 6:30 P. M. Ordered filed.
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, Public Welfare Gdumida iga dated February
6th, 1933, submitting an opinion rendered said Commission by the County
Counsel, September 19th, 1932, to the effect that all charitable
organizations in the County are required to register with the Public
Welfare Commission. Ordered filed.
ORAL COM=NICATIONS.
Mr. Fred Collins addressed the Council, requesting employment
by the City. He was advised by the Mayor that there was no work
available at the present time, but that his application would be retained
in the files for future reference.
Mr. George Bowker, on behalf of E1 Segundo High School Dramatics
Class, requested permission to suspend an oil cloth advertising banner
across a portion of Richmond Street, for the purpose of advertising a
play to be given by said class in the future. Following consideration,
it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that E1
Segundo High School Dramatics Class be granted permission to suspend an
advertising banner across Richmond Street, provided the consent of the
owners of the buildings to which said banner will be anchored is first
obtained; and provided further that said banner is erected at a height
and in a manner satisfactory to the Street Superintendent of the City of
yl Segundo; and provided further, that this Council reserves the right
to revoke this permit at any time in its discretion. Carried by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow,* Krimmel, Love. Selby and 1:1ayor tinder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.

The City Attorney reported that he had received word from one of

the deputies in the office of the County Counsel, to the effect that the
County will attend to any claim which the City may have pertaining to the
case of John Mahla, bankrupt.
The City Attorney reported also that the condemnation report respecting
the Arizona Drive project had not been received from Security Title Insurance
and Guarantee Company, owing to the fact that in the making of their search
they had encountered some difficulty, which it is hoped will be straightened
out prior to the neat meeting of the Council.

Moved by Councilman Krimme1. seconded by Councilman Love, that the
Altar Society of St. Anthony's church be and it is hereby granted permission
to use the City Hall Auditorium,February 21st, 1933, without charge, for the
purpose of holding a benefit card party. Carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
No further business appearing to be transacted at this meeting,
it was moved by Councilman Gerow, seconded by Councilman Krimmel, that
the meeting adjourn. Carried.

CONSENT AND WLIVER OF NOTICE FOR
A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
T: CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CAL. FOR FEBRUARY 10, 1933.
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That we, the
undersigned, being all of the members of the City Council
of the City of E1 Segundo, California, available for the
purpose of holding a meeting of the City Council of said
City, do hereby give our written consent to the holding of
a special meeting of the City Council of said City at the
Council Chamber in the City Hall thereof, No. 203 Richmond
Street, in the City of E1 Segundo, California, on Friday,
the 10th day of February, 1933, beginning at the hour of
4:30 o'clock P. M. of the said day, for the purpose of
considering and acting upon a proposition to improve portions
of Rosecrans Avenue within said City, and for the purpose of
requesting financial aid from the County of Los Angeles, in
order to prosecute said work, said improvement being
beneficial to the residents of Los Angeles County generally,
and the consideration of and action u--on any other matters
related thereto or involved in said proposed improvement.
