1933 DEC 13 CC MINh. 315 El Segundo, California. December 13th, 1933. A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, was called to order at 7:00 o'clock P. M. on the above date, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, by Peter Be Binder, Mayor. ROLL CALL, Councilmen Present: Gerow, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder. Councilmen Absent: 8rimmel. READING OF MINUS OF PREVIOUS MEETING. The minutes of the regular meeting held on the dth day of December, 1933, were read. No errors or omissions appearing, it was moved by Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman Selby, that the minutes be approved as read. Carried. MITTEN COM MNICATIONS. The following communications were read and disposed of as indicated: V. D. SWAIN, dated December 13th, 1933, requesting permission to cut several dead trees on Rosecrans Avenue. The matter was referred to the Street Superintendent for investigation and report to the Council at its next regular meeting. GILES S. PORTER, M. D., Director of Public Health of the State of California, dated December 8th, 1933, referring to a resolution adopted by this Council, November 15th, 1933, and advising that in the writer's opinion a permit will be issued Mothers Educational Center Association to conduct its El Segundo Unit. Ordered filed. J. L. POMEROY, M. D., Los Angeles County Health Officer, dated December 5th, 1933, being a report of the activities of the Department of Health of the County of Los Angeles within the City of E1 Segundo as Health Officer of said City for the month of October, 1933. Ordered filed. I. W. 2LF.M 1NG and five others, dated December 11th, 1933, requesting the installation of a street light at Penn Street and Sycamore Avenue, within the City of El Segundo. By general consent the request was taken under advisement. W. X. HAH3EY, Mayor, City of Tulare, dated December 8th, 1933" requesting this Council to adopt a resolution endorsing the Central Valley Water Act. No action taken. None. None. ORAL COM MICATIONS. REPORTS OF STANDIM COMITTEIS, REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND SPECIAL COBS. The City Attorney reported that the application to the Railroad Commission of the State of California, for permission to construct a public highway over certain rights of way in Arizona Drive within the City of El Segundo, is'prepared and ready for filing, and he thereupon presented a copy of same to the Council. It was moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love, that the City Attorney of the City of El Segundo be and he is hereby instructed to file with the Railroad Commission of the State of California an application for permission to construct a public highway over the rights of way of Pacific Electric Railway and the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in Arizona Drive, within the City of El Segundo, which said application is entitled: "BEFORE THE RAILROAD COMMISSION OF TEM STATE OF CALIFORNIA - In the matter of the Application of the City of El Segundo, 31dtia California, for permission to construct a public highway over the right of way of the Pacific Electric Railway at Arizona Drive and E1 Segundo Boulevard; and also for permission to construct a public highway over the right of way of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway at Arizona Drive, within the 'said City of E1 Segundo." The foregoing resolution was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder, Noes: Councilmen None. Absent: Councilman Krimmel. NEW BUSINESS. Moved by Councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Gerow, that Resolution No. 297, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO9 LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, SUBbdI MG APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL CIVIL. WORKS ADMINISTRATION FOR LOS ANGELES COUNTY FOR THE AYMOVAL BY THE FEDERAL CIVIL WORKS ADMINISTRATION FOR CALIFORNIA, OF THE CIVIL WORKS ADMINISTRATION PROJECT DESCRIBED H�IN' RELATING TO TaE nw,- RoVEMENT OF A PORTION OF COAST BOULEVARD WITEiIN SAID CITY, BY GRADING 1:ND PAVING THE SAME; SETTING FORTH THE FACT THAT THE APPLICAZ.LON IS NM SUBJECT TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF TEE FEDERAL CIVIL WORKS ADMINISTRATION AND TEE FACTS UPON TEICH THE CITY COUNCIL RELIES TO 7USTI1'Y THE PROJECT', which was read, be adopted. Carried by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder. Noes: Councilmen None, Absent: Councilman Krim el. No further business appearing to be transacted at this session, it was moved by councilman Selby, seconded by Councilman Love, that the meeting adjourn until Monday, the 18th day of December, 1933, at the hour of 4:40 o'clock P.
